Finding a breakfast when you are following any diet plan isn’t easy, but these Slimming World Cinnamon Waffles are a complete game-changer!

Slimming World Cinnamon Waffles

I say diet plan. Slimming World is more of a lifestyle for me now. I have found that if I move away from any food optimising, I start to feel horrible!

One of the trickiest meals to cater for is breakfast. Finding something that is relatively quick, on plan, tasty and filling isn’t the easiest thing in the world. The baked oats recipe Slimming World offer is fantastic, and using them, I have been choosing these Slimming World waffles for a while now so, when my sister said that she had added cinnamon to her mixture, I decided to give it a try. I am SO glad that I did!

The thing is, when someone says ‘waffle’ I automatically imagine that they are shaped like a Belgian waffle. You know, with the indented squares and everything! Well, thanks to Amazon I have found a fantastic silicon mould which not only shapes them properly but is also non-stick making it easy to clean (no one wants to spend all their time cleaning up after breakfast, do they?!).

The best thing? These are syn-free as long as you are using the Porridge Oats as your Healthy Extra B.

HOW TO MAKE SLIMMING WORLD CINNAMON WAFFLES

Ingredients (serves 1)

  • 40g of Porridge Oats
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 100g Fat Free Greek Yoghurt
  • 1 egg

Method

Add 40g of porridge oats to a blender (I used my Nutribullet) and add the cinnamon. Blitz to a fine powder. Place in a bowl and then put the Fat Free Greek Yoghurt on top. Leave overnight in the fridge. Add an egg and mix. Add to a silicone waffle mould which has been sprayed with a low calorie cooking spray and bake in the oven on Gas mark 6 for around 30 minutes. Serve with banana and/or a topping of your choice.

Recommended low-syn toppings include:

  • Skinny Food Co Chocaholic Duo Spread – 1 level tbsp = 4 syns
  • Clarks Maple Syrup – 1 level tsp = 0.5 syns
  • Skinny Food Co Syrup – all varieties – 1 level tbsp = 0.5 syns
  • Raspberries – FREE
  • Banana – FREE

I use a fantastic silicone waffle mould to make all my waffles. I spray it first with a low calorie cooking spray, such as Frylight, so that the mixture doesn’t stick.

Slimming World Cinnamon Waffles

These Slimming World Cinnamon Waffles make a great breakfast or dessert. You can either choose to syn them – it would be 7 syns for 40g of porridge oats – OR to enjoy them syn-free, choose them as your Healthy Extra B allowance for the day.
