Losing Weight with Slimming World Week 16
Back to it during the first week of January with Slimming World and I have to say that I found it harder coming off plan and going back on again than I did when I first started! As a result, I found a few ways (or, should that say ‘weighs’?!) to keep myself focused.
Here is my week 16.
Table of Contents
The Slimming World food I ate
For me, the way to stay on track really is all about the meal planning. From breakfast, to lunch, to dinner and to all the snacks in between. I find that it really does work best when I know what I am doing. With that in mind, the Take 5 Book I bought last week has been an absolute godsend! That and the Slimming World calendar to help give me some inspiration and get me back in the zone.
The King Prawn Jambalaya is still a huge hit for me and I shall be serving it up for tea tomorrow evening before I head off to London for a Photography Convention.

We had the Turkey Jalfrezi – which was a very popular one – as well as the Slimming World fish and chips with homemade ketchup and tartare sauce and the Cheesy Chicken Risotto (I really shouldn’t write these posts at lunchtime, I feel really hungry now!!).

We paid one of our regular visits to Wetherspoons over the weekend and, to ensure I didn’t eat anything I shouldn’t, I ordered a jacket potato with cheese and added an extra topping of beans for 75p. Plus this came with a diet coke included.
I did make the Chicken Katsu curry featured on this month’s Slimming World calendar. The chicken was great. The sauce, not so much.

Favourite Discoveries of the Week
Not only have I discovered that the Fibre 90 bars are all 4 syns or less, but I also bought a few of the Alpen Light packets as some of them are counted as Healthy Extras. I also bought some Light and Free Blueberry yoghurts for half a syn each and have them as a snack if needed.
As a really special treat, I bought 3 different flavours of Halo Top ice cream. The Birthday Cake flavour – yes, I said Birthday Cake (it’s amazing!) is 3.5 syns for 100 ml, the Peanut Buttercup is the same and the Dairy Free Chocolate ice cream is 3 syns for 100ml.
How I felt
This was the hardest week I had on plan so far. Even though I knew how I felt after Boxing Day when I was off plan, it is amazing how your body can crave something that it doesn’t really need – or want. I was close to sabotaging last week but I am so pleased that I really stuck with it.
Exercise
It was once again all about the walking for me. I am a little concerned about the routine not happening yet again this week for various reasons but I will make sure it happens next week if it doesn’t this!
The Slimming World meeting
It was a little less busy than last week but it was great to see plenty of people and lots of losses. In fact, as a group, we lost a total of 144.5lbs. Goes to show, doesn’t it?
I had a wonderful compliment from one member whilst I was queuing to weigh. She told me that the loss was really starting to show now. She told me that she would never just say that, she meant it. And that meant a lot to me. Having someone say that to give you a boost really does help. Plus, of course, the great support from Becs and the rest of the group.
One of the members who has already reached target – and been there for quite a while – put it so well. She said that she came to group to help stay out of the danger zone. She finds that if she was left to just get on with it then there is every likelihood that she would put it back on again and that wasn’t what she wanted.
Weigh-in
Weight at the beginning of my diet: 195.5lbs
Weight last week: 176lbs
Target weight: 156lbs
Weight this week: 174lbs
Loss for the week: -2lbs
Total Loss so far: 21.5lbs
My thoughts
So, that is half the Christmas weight gain gone. Now to get rid of the other half and more! I feel that once I have lost all the festive gain then I can press the reset button and really get going to reach my target. I am hoping to do this by the end of March if possible. There are 11 weeks and that means a loss of just over 1.5lbs per week. I am sure I can do that! I am still considering resetting my target but I think I shall leave it where it is for now.
My goals for the next week
To get rid of the rest of the festive weight gain and, hopefully, a bit more! So looking for another 2lb loss at least.
