Losing Weight with Slimming World Week 20

I felt much more in control of my Slimming World journey last week. Even though I was still under the weather, I found it much easier to plan and stay on target. I knew I wanted to try and get my 2 stone award but I felt that any loss would be better than none at all – so, I was prepared to run with that.
Table of Contents
The Slimming World food I ate
Last week was a little all over the place as different people were out at different times on different nights! I still meal-planned though and we had some of the Slimming World regulars including risotto, turkey jalfrezi and the curried chicken and cauliflower I had made the previous week. We also had savoury pork mince with Slimming World potato wedges and sweetcorn.

I also had a curry night on Friday with my Postnatal group. With that in mind, I knew I had to plan for some syns and try and choose the meal with the least possible. I looked it all up in my book and found that a Lamb Rogan Josh was 9.5 syns, a lentil dhal was 4 syns and boiled rice was free – so that was what I had!
Because of the curry, I made sure to have vegetable soup and stir fries all weekend and tried extra hard to be good.

Favourite Discoveries of the Week
I have to be honest, there was no major discoveries for me last week!
How I felt
I have started to realise that the time of year really isn’t helping. The weather is a bit rubbish and cold. I feel a bit stuck having to stay in a lot – especially as Rex keeps getting coughs and colds – and, as a result, I have found that I am turning to food a bit more than I have been. All that said, I did not really go off plan and I felt pretty good about what I was doing.
I have a problem with my tendon in my foot and also have Plantar Faciitis which is playing up right now. On top of that, I dropped a huge metal pole on one of my toes on Sunday and am convinced I have broken it. It ruddy hurts!
Exercise
Believe it or not, the exercise is gradually starting. I have been following a programme on Sky called Fit in Five which means I can work out in a small way whilst Rex is around. The kettle bells have also started to be used and, on top of all that, our garage will be clear this week which means the treadmill is beckoning!
The Slimming World meeting
Due to the result (see below in a moment!), it was the first time I so nearly left, especially as I had the kids with me. I am no quitter though and I know I needed the support of Becs and the other members – just so I could talk through what happened and feel more positive about next week.
I bought the new magazine and there are a number of new recipes in there I would like to try. This tends to give me a kick up the bum and some new inspiration. I also won the raffle! It was a lovely prize of a new mug with a heart on it, some heart-shaped candles, a jar of Options hot chocolate (Belgian Chocolate flavour – my favourite one!), a can of light squirty cream and a pack of mini marshmallows. I shall definitely be looking forward to that this week!
Weigh-in
Weight at the beginning of my diet: 195.5lbs
Weight last week: 170lbs
Target weight: 156lbs
Weight this week: 170.5lbs
Loss for the week: +0.5lbs
Total Loss so far: 25.0lbs
My thoughts
So, a gain then. I have to say that I was surprised and a bit gutted. Especially as I stayed on plan. I had a couple of members say to me that they felt the scales had it in for us this week (in a jokey way of course) but I think that, at this time of year, everyone gets a little bit stuck. Roll on the nicer weather!
My goals for the next week
So, lets push the reset button then, shall we? This is NOT going to get the better of me. Now I have 3lbs to lose to get my 2 stone award. I CAN DO THIS!

We work in kgs so it was always a pleasure to go to a Weightwatchers meeting in the UK as my brain couldn’t work it out! But one thing I did find from my weight loss journey was I put on weight one week in four, (pretty sure it was linked to my cycle) and if you don’t get despondent, a weight gain can be what is needed. Well done you for sticking with it!
