Project 365 – 18th to 24th January 2015

It took me nearly two hours to put our new exercise bike together! Thank goodness Ross didn’t do it – he really doesn’t have the patience for stuff like this! Even then, I had to ring customer services as it is not at all clear from the instructions how you plug it in. Reebok said that they get a lot of calls like this. I suggested that may be this was telling them something.
Monday 19th January 2015

At the end of December we bought a couple of Groupon vouchers to go to the cinema and they run out on 1st February. We hadn’t got round to seeing The Hobbit – and were a bit reluctant to see it after what we heard – but we are a Lord of the Rings family and this had to be done! Despite the fact that it is a bit long-winded, we all loved it.
Tuesday 20th January 2015

I have to admit to shedding a tear as Ross and I watched Grace getting enrolled as a Brownie on Tuesday. They had the toadstool and the mirror and the owl. They still do the ‘twist me and turn me’ rhyme and I was so proud of her because she learned the promise off by heart. She is now looking at all the badges she would like to go for!
Wednesday 21st January 2015

Since moving to Somerset I have not set foot inside a gym. Thanks to the Epson Pulsense which I am reviewing, I have been given 2 months free membership and I started on Wednesday with a body pump class. My goodness it was hard! But I have to admit that it did make me feel good.
Thursday 22nd January 2015

Grace has recently started getting a bit clingy towards me. I believe that this is down to the events just before Christmas – and, of course, I couldn’t explain to her exactly what was wrong with me. I found this really hard because I have always been honest with her. She has also gone back to playing with her dolls and when I went in to her room to put some washing away, I found this. It is SO lovely and just shows how caring my little girl is.
23rd January 2015

I have just about finished my current read so the next in my row of unread books on my shelf came out and onto my bedside table. I think most bloggers will recognise this one and I was really pleased to have won it in a giveaway on Coombemill just before Christmas.
Saturday 24th January 2015

Today I have spent much of the day playing with the manual settings on the DSLR that I received for Christmas from Ross. One thing that I am really impressed with is the fact that Canon have a brilliant app for my very camera model with loads of great tutorials and exercises. This afternoon I spent lots of time practising and this is one of my favourites. I will be putting another on my Silent Sunday tomorrow.

Aww bless Grace, she is very caring I love how she has arranged her dolls. It is great that she know the Brownie promise of by heart and is now enrolled she will love earning all her badges. Great photos.
Well done for getting the bike together, I wouldn’t know where to start…One good reason for keeping Neal around! The events before Christmas are bound to have affected Grace, we can’t always shield them as much as we would like. The scene with the dolls is lovely and does show what a caring young girl she is.
I do love the picture of the starling. I like the way the twigs don’t obscure the bird and are slightly out of focus. A lovely picture of a bird in it’s natural environment.
xx
Definitely sounds like Reebok need to sort out their instuctions. Things like that drive me insane ,makes me wonder if they ever test out instruction manuals first.
Hope you’re enjoying your new camera. I’m loving mine, although I’d quite like an app with tips. Panasonic have one for transferring photos and remote control, although I’ve not yet managed to get the wifi to work yet annoyingly.
What great photos, I love the Saturday one, the sky looks so blue through the branches =)
Awww how cute, I hope Grace has lots of fun at Brownies! And her dolls, that is such a cute photo.
I hope you enjoy your new exercise bike and going to the gym.
That exercise bike does look fab! It’s a shame it took so long to put together. You would think they would simplify it…We saw The Hobbit last week too….Such a great film. It put me right in the mood to watch The Lord of the rings again…
Lovely photos!
Thanks for the fab tips on camera buying Vic, I really appreciate that. Love your photo’s too, especially the one of the bird. Looks like your handing your DSLR nicely 🙂 Zx
Love the Brownie and the doll photos, and well done you for getting into the gym, think I need to! Exercise bike sounds good too…. that bird pic is amazing! Off to see if Nikon have a similar app… 🙂
I love the bird photo! Well done to Grace on becoming a Brownie, Em loves going to her pack!
Good luck with gym and the new bike too, I’ve started running again, gulp!!
I have to admit I’ve never set foot in a gym, nor do I think I ever will.
Good luck
I hate putting stuff together – I loose patience very quickly. How proud does Grace look at brownies – looks like it has been a great week
Lovely pictures and while the bird picture is stunning my favourite is the dolls. It’s so lovely you captured that. #365
That’s an amazing photograph of the bird Vic, what Canon have you got? I desperately need tutorials on mine! Lovely photo of a Grace being enrolled – I think it’s sweet that they still do the same rhymes, albeit a slightly modernised promise. X
Love that last shot of the bird, brilliant. Well done to Grace, I hope she enjoys it 🙂 Good luck with the bike and the gym…!
Thank you – I am rather chuffed with it! Grace absolutely loves Brownies 🙂
gosh look at the amazing details on the bird in the tree, a great capture.
Well done on remembering the promise Grace, and I hope you enjoy being a Brownie.
My DH is like yours, easier to assemble things without them, but guess the company need to improve their assembly instructions. Enjoy the gym, I prefer swimming.
commenting on behalf of project 365 as well as myself
Thanks Elaine – I am so pleased with it. Yep, Ross is just not patient enough to construct things – he probably would have smashed it in frustration!
Good luck with the exercise bike and gym Vicky. Lol to Reebok! Awe, bless Grace. i would have shed a tear too at Brownies. I love your bird shot. DSLR camera’s are fab aren’t they! x
Thanks very much Jo – I am looking forward to more exercise 🙂 Yep, I absolutely LOVE my DSLR.
I love your bird photo! I never seem to be able to take pics of birds. It sounds like you are a very proud Mummy of Grace this week, with the Brownies and her lovely scene with the dolls 🙂
Thank you Sarah 🙂 Oh, I am totally proud of Grace – that doll scene really surprised me and I love that I managed to capture it.
Your comment about the bike made me laugh, you would have thought they might have got the hint! Say congratulations to your fully fledged brownie x
I know! I was so shocked. I also told them that their instruction booklet was appalling and I expected more from a company of their calibre! I will – thanks Jane 🙂 x
Oh wow the Brownie promise, that brings back memories
I know! They have altered it slightly and it is longer now but it still brought back memories 🙂
Oh, just got goosebumps – I had totally forgotten about the toadstool and mirror etc, how wonderful that some things haven’t changed. The uniform is certainly an improvement. Yes, seems like they should be listening to their customers if so many are having issues building their exercise bikes #365
Oh I know Mary – the exact same thing happened to me! Totally agree on the uniform too 🙂
I was never a Brownie 🙁 and I always wanted my girl to be one – she did Rainbows but didn’t enjoy it 🙁 The exercise bits look good – puts me to shame! I must check out the canon app – I was out today with mine and got in a right muddle with it!
That is a shame – I guess it isn’t for all girls. The app is brilliant – and, even better, it’s free! I highly recommend it x
Gyms and exercise bikes are so not me, but full respect to anyone doing that. I hate to assemble things. The only assembly I enjoy is Lego. 🙂 Great shot of nature!
The assembly was a bit of a nightmare but I find I get into the zone with something like that.
