I have been a blogger now for 8 years and over that time I have continuously found ways to evolve and improve my WordPress blog design to ensure it is aesthetically pleasing and easy to read.

I have now had 4 different logos which I feel suited me at each stage of my blogging career. The latest one is more about family health and wellbeing and fits well with my other jobs – which means I am able to overlap what I do.

Sometimes some of your older posts may need updating to keep them relevant and inline with current situations.

It is a great idea to go through some of these and update the images as well as check for any broken links and give them a fresh appearance with links to different sites. You may also like to consider making some fresh pins to share on Pinterest in a bid to get new traffic to your site. Once you have done this, you can look at re-sharing them.

It is also a great opportunity to improve the SEO to your blog.

Reconsider your Theme

I recently updated my site to a Genesis Framework with Child Theme. Since doing that, I have found that my whole blog appearance has improved and it has given my front page a whole new look and lease of life too! The theme I chose was Refined by Restored 316 and I very happy with it.

TIdy Up Your Menus

It is really important to ensure that your menus and tabs are easy to find and not too overwhelming. Readers could get put off if they cannot find what they are looking for and this would mean they would leave your site. This decrease their session time and increase your bounce rate.

Re-design your Logo

Finally, you could give your blog a whole new lease of life – and save money – by re-designing your blog logo yourself. This is something I have done using Canva.

Canva is a fantastic resource which I use every single day. It has every size of image you need and caters for all kinds of different things including social media, business cards, presentations and blogs. I paid for the Pro version which does have slightly more to it but I certainly feel it is a worthwhile investment.
