Together – Day 16 of National Poetry Writing Month #NaPoWriMo
It is Day 16 of National Poetry Writing Month and I found it a little tricky today. What inspired me was listening to Ross and Grace sitting together playing a computer game. Then, when we watched a film together this morning, she naturally moved over to him for a cuddle. I love their relationship. This is not one of my best but my poem today is called ‘Together’.
Together
Being blood-related
None of that really matters
I often hear you sit and chat
You’re both as mad as hatters
You treat her just as if
She was your very own
You have helped complete her life
We’re proud of how she’s grown
It’s clear to see she loves you
Always seeking your approval
Teaching her the right from the wrong
Show her the meaning of frugal
What I thought would only be two
Is perfect now that it’s three
You are the dad I wanted for her
Together, a family
