Song for the Weekend #10 A Little Respect – Erasure
This week’s song for the weekend belongs to Erasure, one of my go-to groups in my late teens. I loved their music and me, my girlfriends, Sarah and Sam, and our respect partners at the time were lucky enough to see them in concert twice. The second performance is the one that sticks in my mind the most. It was the Wild! Tour performed at the Hammersmith Apollo/Odeon. They did a fabulous Wild West set as well as dressing up as ABBA. Totally memorable.
There many songs of theirs that I still love; Drama, Stop, Ship of Fools, Always but the one that sticks in my mind the most is A Little Respect. Ross and his band D-State perform it and it is one of their most popular songs. It is easy to sing a long and dance to. Enjoy!

Great Song! Songs often spring to mind with the Prompt words, then I get earwormed 🙂
Love that song too, Vic – happy memories of the late ’80s and one of those that always helps put a smile on my face. Thanks for the reminder 🙂 xx #theprompt
It does that to me too 🙂 A pleasure – and thanks for stopping by Leigh xx
I think we have very similar music tastes, I love this song. I saw Erasure too back in the day. I remember vividly the rather outlandish rubber gear they wore on stage, was quite an eye opener for me at the time! #pocolo
It certainly sounds like we do Christine 🙂 They were amazing live!
So love this! I also went to that concert – gosh, it was a long time ago now, but it was fabulous! Am listening as I type 🙂
We might have been at the same one! 🙂
I know this one. Quite memorable too as its always playing in the background when I am with my friends in Manila in cafes and bars =)
Yay! So glad it brought back memories for you Merlinda x
Oh, this brings back memories 🙂 Loved Erasure, although sadly, I never managed to see them in concert. Lucky you! Thanks for sharing this with #ThePrompt, I’m going to be singing it all day 🙂
They are so fab, aren’t they? A pleasure – and thanks for hosting x
