Prose For Thought – Joy

Once again thank you to all the wonderfully talented Prose for Thought linkers who make this link such a special place to be. There is so much talent out there and I feel so honoured that you share your writing here, with me.  In a couple of weeks, I am hoping to have some good news about the poetry and prose you lovely lot write too 🙂

Now if you haven’t seen the good news today then you need to hop over to see Emma at Crazy with Twins today to find out the latest. When you told me Emma, it got me thinking and the result is the poem below.

I look forward to reading the poetry of anyone else linking today.

Joy

The joy I feel in touching and holding you near

Now you’re in my arms, I have nothing to fear

You were so close to me, yet so far away

My heart so full of hope, I knew there’d come a day

That bad times would pass, this saw me through

Now I’m in your arms and it’s really you

I touch your skin, your face, your hair

I can’t believe that you’re really there

Been through so much together apart

Yet you’re always right there in my heart

  1. Such a beautiful poem. I love this and am looking forward to when I can feel like that again – hopefully in a few days. It’s been one day and I’m missing them again already! xx

  2. A lovely poem and having read Emma’s story the words are perfect. I can’t imagine how hard it must have been for Emma and, finally, the relief of being able to hold the ones she loves most in her arms again.

All the best to you with your next few, extremely busy weeks! I’m in awe you manage to keep writing and blogging too!

I’m late to comment on this too but love the new header!

  6. Great stuff, I love the line about always being in your heart, as I think that really sums things up. Really fitting for the news Emma has had, so happy for her. x

  7. Lovely. Touch is such an important part of being human, I totally get the line about them being I your heart. Sometimes I can physically feel my children there!

  8. Just been over to Emma’s blog to have a nose – the most amazing news!! So wonderful, and this is a lovely tribute to that moment x
