Leaping Lizard!
A couple of weeks ago, when we were in Portland, Dorset, I was photographing the runners in the Hardway Half Marathon. As I was waiting on one of the tracks down near Portland Bill, I spotted this little chap run across the path in front of me. I really thought he was going to be far too quick for me but I bent down as he was basking in the sun on a rock and just managed to capture him as he started to run off!

What a fabulous capture, he is gorgeous!
Thank you Sara 🙂 x
this is a fab capture, definitely a case of right place right time!
If I’d attempted to take that I’m pretty sure it would be a blurry mess!

Thank you Leanne 🙂
Haha what a great shot! He really does look like he is in a hurry!
Thanks Jenni – he really does! 🙂
Oh brilliant! Thought he must be under glass at first glance! Right place, right time 🙂 x
Thank you Lisa – it totally was! x
Like he is suspended on air! Amazing capture!

Awesome photo! I’m not that quick with my camera.
Great shot, you must have been super quick x
Wow – that looks great, you must have been quick!
Wowsers, when I saw a photo of a lizard I thought you must have been either on holiday or hanging about at a wildlife centre or something – not Portland BIll! Great shot, can’t believe you’ve captured it so perfectly!
Excellent photo, Victoria! And perfect timing too. He could almost be in the middle of the desert rather than on Portland Bill!
xx
Stunning shot; next up National Geographic wildlife photo of the year comp!
Fantastic. I love how you manage to capture the movement Victoria. I think I would have given up 🙂
Good timing, they are normally so quick so brilliant work in capturing him

What an incredible capture! I would have been amazed to spot the lizard and would never have managed to get a photo.

You and your action shots, getting very good at them Victoria! You must have been fast to capture this. Very impressive! #MySundayPhoto
What a fantastic shot. You did so well to get him in time (and in focus). I’d probably just have got a back leg 🙂 #MySundayPhoto
Well done! What a great capture….Great timing x
Wow now that’s what you’d call an action shot! Brilliant timing.
Briliant, you can actually see his two front legs in running motion.
