Haven. A Photography and Poetry Prompt
Having spent last weekend down in Devon, this week’s prompt ‘Haven’ was an easy one for me. Any place that gets me away from it all (including phones and social media!) and means I spend time with my family is definitely a haven to me.
The photograph I have chosen is of the beach at Soar Mill Cove. This was taken at around 5.30pm on a beautiful summer’s evening. Surprisingly the beach was empty by then – but it sums up the perfect haven to me!
My poem, once again, is self-explanatory, based on not one particular place but any where I can spend time relaxing.
Haven
Everyone needs a haven
Somewhere to make them see
That sometimes all they need
Is to go ahead and just be
Everyone needs a haven
Somewhere to call their own
A place where love surrounds them
When everyone else has flown
Everyone needs a haven
Somewhere to ease their mind
Take some time and go there
You might be surprised with your find
Everyone needs a haven
Somewhere that they can feel
Some time out just sometimes
Is all you need just to heal

Lovely words and photo for a lovely subject. Your sentiments in the poem echo the serenity in your photograph; you’re right, everyone needs a haven.
