FREE Trial of an Online Maths Tutoring Service
Please note that we were compensated for this post.

Home schooling is not easy. Not just because it restricts the time I have to work and because I know far less about maths than Grace does (it never was a great subject for me!) but because I have no clue what Grace is currently studying. Thankfully, there is an online maths tutoring service which can help.
TuitionWorks is a new service offering online one-to-one maths tuition with fully qualified teachers. Part of the UK’s largest education staffing business, Supporting Education Group, they give you access to some of the best maths teachers in the UK.
About TuitionWorks
TuitionWorks was formed after the company spoke to a number of parents and students who confirmed that finding an available, trustworthy tutor is hard – but once you’ve got them, there is no flexibility and going to the tutor can be an inconvenience.
They set up this service to overcome all these barriers and make it easy by bringing together some top Maths teachers who are fully vetted. They know the syllabus, excel at teaching it and mentor students to deliver real results. They cover all ages, from Key Stage 1 to A-level maths.
The teachers are 100% UK registered – all of which have a degree – and have an impressive 95% rebook rate.

Our Experience
As I mentioned above, I am not a mathematician. However, Grace is. She has always excelled in the subject and it is important to her as she would like to move on to become a Biotechnologist when she leaves school.
Currently, I have no clue where she is in her Key stage 3 learning and, with the limited help she is getting due to lockdown, we both agreed that it would be important to do have a ‘Supercharged 40’ (40 minute session) to get an overall view of where she is in her studies.
For £35, you receive the following:
- Automated Session Recording
- Anytime Playback
- Keep Your Tutor
- Upload Workbooks
- Sketch & Free Type
- Session Summaries
- Recurring Bookings
I was able to book Grace onto the required time and date and explain what she wanted to gain from the session. I then input Grace’s email address and the responsibility was (rightly) passed to her to set up and arrive for the online lesson on time.
What made it so good?
There are many wonderful things about the service from TuitionWorks as we discovered this week.
One-to-one
Unlike many online learning services, your child and the tutor have a one-to-one session, so they benefit from the teacher’s undivided attention. Grace could really focus on what Xavier was saying to her and she felt that she received his full support.
Tailored
When we booked our lesson, I was able to choose the right stage for Grace in respect of her development and add extra notes about what I wanted her to gain from the lesson.

Fully Qualified Tutors
TuitionWorks provide fully registered UK teachers who offer a great online tutoring experience. They stand out for helping students gain entrance to top schools, pushing them to achieve top tier grades or by supporting borderline students to grades they did not think were achievable. It was clear that Xavier was pushing Grace without being overbearing as he helped to jog her memory on things she has not covered for a while but will come up when she moves up to Year 9. I was surprised to see how much she knew, and it certainly helped me see where she was with her studies.

The latest technology
Seamless and Bespoke online experience toota is a built on a tailored online tuition platform. We had no need to download any software. Grace just clicked on a link and was taken to the workbook where she was able to activate a camera, say hello to Xavier and switch back to the workbook which was used for the lesson.
Convenient
We were offered several times and dates and we were able to select one that suited both Grace and I – as I wanted to see what it was all about!
Pay as you go scheduling
The service costs £35 for 40 minutes or £49 for 60 minutes with no recurring subscription charges or membership fee.
An instant revision library
Every session is recorded and accessible with your child’s own dedicated account. With every lesson they have, they are building their own bespoke revision library, which they can access and playback at any time.

What a great idea to help them out at home with their learning, perfect for parents to have some help with learning too
Definitely! I have to say that I learned a few things as well.
This sounds really good. Great for kids who need a little bit of extra help, especially with what is happen in the world right now
I agree Natasha. Such a useful service
That sounds great. As someone who got behind in maths and never really caught up again, I can see why this would be so valueable, expecially in these unusual times.
I really agree with you there Jean.
This sounds like such a good way to help with such a tricky subject!
Maths was never my favourite!
Oooh thank you for this – one I would definitely like to try!
Excellent. I hope you find it useful Clare.
This looks an excellent idea, and if your able to do it for the kids they would find it very beneficial and probably any learning stage, if your worried about the kids learnign this year this is a great way to top it up it seems, great review
Thanks so much. I really do recommend it.
I think I could have used this when I was a child!
Me too!
I think this is something that would help us loads. Im utterly rubbish at maths and we need our son to catch up pre going back to school so this sounds like a perfect way forward for us
I am totally the same Lynne. Grace knows far more than I do!
ChildrenofWanderlust;
I think it’s great to get additional specialist support in this subject.
I think you are right there 🙂
What a great idea especially at a time like this for sure. This at last makes sure kids are still getting the teaching they need
It does – especially as the tutors are fully qualified.
This sounds amazing! I’d never heard of it before. One to share with my friends who have school aged kids. Thanks!
No problem at all. I hope they find it useful.
Thank you for sharing this useful platform, my daughter is in year 1 and will definitely benefit from some extra help
A pleasure! That is great to hear.
Thank you so much for sharing the article. I think it’s great that you are helping out parents during the lockdown with free trial tutorials.
I think toota is great for doing this too 🙂
Wow awesome I’m going to share this with my mummy friends so helpful
Brilliant! Thanks Laura.
This sounds really good! It’s great that they have 1:1 help and the lesson is personalised for each individual’s needs.
I agree. The 1:1 idea is what appealed to me.
Online Maths Tutoring is such a great idea! I am definitely going to use your code for my children to see if this is something they would benefit from as they could do with some Math tutoring.
Fantastic! I hope you find it useful 🙂
It must be so tough for kids during lockdown to continue with the same level of learning as they currently are, this seems like such a good service x
I think you are right there Rhian.
This sounds great, Maths was never my strongest subject. I have daughters in year 9 and year 7 and a son in year 3. I have had to watch every tutorial available to help them through their school work and I sometimes still struggle.
Me too! I still have an issue with Maths. Hope you find it useful x
Oh wow this sounds amazing, I think Maths is one of those areas where it really helps to have a little help. And this is such a great offer too!
Definitely! Thanks for your comment Jenni.
It’s great to see that there’s so many good resources to help children and their homeschooling parents at this time.
great idea, especially right now as accessing help from school doesn’t seem to be forthcoming
A tutor can be especially helpful for a struggling student, especially now that there’s new math and common core math and who knows how many other forms of math. I like the convenience of it being online.
I think these are such great resources and beneficial to children and also parents, and a free trial is good to see how you get on with it
I’ve really not enjoyed trying to juggle home schooling with work. I have been considering getting a tutor although online tutoring is probably more appropriate for now.
I am intrigued by an online tutoring service and think it may just be what Jack needs right now so might just take up the free trial to give it a go!
Oh this is such a good idea for lockdown. I’ve been struggling with home learning just lately
Absolutely admire those that have stuck to home schooling during lockdown. Must be extremely difficult!
What a great idea particularly for parents ! I think these type of things must be worth their weight in gold.
