Losing Weight with Slimming World Week 4

I really don’t know where the time goes! I have now reached my fourth week on the Slimming World plan. Last night was my fifth meeting. Once again I had to take the kids with me as Ross was away on business. This time I took Rex’s tea and my mobile loaded with Hey Duggee episodes (!) in a bid to make it to the end of the meeting – and it worked! Grace also said to me afterwards that she understood why I stayed. She found it really interesting.

Did I get my half a stone award? (I think the photo at the top gives it away!). Here are the details of my fourth week on Slimming World.

The Slimming World food I ate

Here are some of the highlights from what I ate last week.

  • Breakfast – I have pretty much stuck with the Oatso Simple. It is quicker and easier – and less mess – than the eggs and bacon. Plus, it means I can swap eggs and bacon into lunchtime if I wanted!
  • Lunch – I am trying to cut down a bit on the jacket potatoes. I have had lots of leftovers and soups which were delicious.
  • Dinner – Chilli Con Carne, Beef Lasagne (a family favourite now!), Slow-Cooked Gammon in Cider (left-overs blended up into soup for lunch the next day was amazing!), home-made turkey burgers (Grace LOVED these) and chicken and bacon pasta bake.

I have to say that I was SO upset on Sunday. Last week, when we took Rex to see a theatre show, we went for lunch at Wetherspoons. I chose a jacket potato with beans as I knew where I stood. Then, we all went to our local Wetherspoons on Sunday for lunch, where I chose a skinny chicken burger. I thought I was being so good.

When we got home, I checked the Slimming World app to find that the skinny chicken burger at Wetherspoons was 22 syns!! Gutted. I have not been off plan the whole time and was SO miffed. If I had had a skinny steak it would have only been 11 syns! (Followers of the plan will know you are allowed 5-15 syns a day).

To make up for this, I spent the whole of yesterday eating speed foods to try and make sure I showed at least some loss.

Favourite Discoveries of the Week

The chocolate orange HiFi bars are fabulous! Last night I bought some more salted caramel to see me through the week. I made a chilli con carne on Friday night when Ross’ parents came over and it went down a treat. This, together with the lasagne is definitely one of our favourites.

I am big into satsumas now. Whenever I feel the need for something sweet, these are my go-tos. I also found out that Aero Bubbly Mousses are 4.5 syns a pot. These are my new Friday and Saturday night treats – especially when the others are eating chocolate and cake!

I found some Butternut Squash waffles in Asda last week. Definitely a great replacement for the potato ones!

How I felt

Last Thursday I was SO close to getting a pastry or cake. I felt absolutely and utterly shattered. Thankfully, I didn’t though and was so careful. Instead I had some diet coke and got an early night!

Sunday’s error really upset me. I am so determined to make this work! I really wanted to lose a bit more than I did last night (see below) but I am gunning for that this week instead. Especially now I am well on my way with the losses.

The fourth Slimming World meeting

Being able to stay last night was really important to me. I wanted to share what had happened. The fact that the kids were so good really helped!

Despite only losing half a pound (and the Sunday upset), the fact that I earned my half a stone award really made up for it.

There was one lady who had been a pound or two off her target for the last couple of weeks – despite being so good – and last night, she did it! I was SO pleased for her.

Weigh-in

Weight at the beginning of my diet: 195.5lbs

Weight last Monday: 189.0lbs

Target weight: 156lbs

Weight this Monday: 188.5lbs

Loss for the week: 0.5lbs

Total Loss so far: 7lbs

My goals for this week.

Now that I have my half a stone award, I want to up my weight-loss and am going to try for 3 pound next week. So, in a bid to try and get that, I am going to bring the exercise in this week. The Fitbit is on charge! Let’s do this!
