5 Ways I Would Prepare a Home Office Space
We are very lucky in this house. Ross and I both work from home and we both have our own home office space (I think we would drive each other mad if we didn’t!). Of course, at the moment, I am spending more time looking after a new baby than working. When I do return though, I want to make sure that the space is one that makes work easier and that I can enjoy being in.
Here are 5 ways I would love to make a home office space completely mine.
Table of Contents
Photography Equipment
One of the main things that every blogger needs is photography equipment. There is no end to the amount of time I have spent lusting over different items and making lists of all the things I would love to buy (if money were no object!).
With the fact that I will be increasing my photography work at some point, this is doubly important. I already have a back drop, lighting, off-camera flashes and a lightbox. I just need to make sure that I have the space for everything!
Neutral walls
Neutral walls are very important to me. I can’t be dealing with loud and lary decoration with the potential to give me a migraine. I tend to go for painted walls – mainly because it makes decorating them quick and easy – but if I opted for something else then this grey wallpaper from Taskers would be right up my street.
Computer-friendly desk
One of the things that I really would love is a desk which is easy to use, accessible for my printer, computer and other technology as well as a little bit of storage space including a filing drawer. I am aiming to be far more organised when I make a return to work. I have spent far too much time hunting for things when I don’t know where I have put them!
Home Office Space Storage
Now before Ross goes mad (!), I need to stress that we are having a great big clear out of our house at the moment so storage is only really for my photography props and bits and pieces. We are trying to live a more slim-lined life and I want to make sure that I stop hoarding. It also means that the surfaces are less cluttered making housework that bit easier.
All I would really need is a shelving unit and some storage boxes. I want to make sure that I don’t have a build-up of ‘stuff’ but the things I do have need a home.
Sound System
Regular readers of my blog will know just how important a sound system is to me. Listening to music has always been how I work best. I can remember the many arguments I had with my sister when we shared a room and were trying to do our homework. She preferred it quiet and me, not so much!
Some decent surround sound speakers would be absolutely amazing to help me work. I would love to be able to hook these up to my computer and listen to the many different playlists I have set up in my music files.
In collaboration with Taskers

I really need to overhaul my work space too. I am currently squished in a corner of the lounge with all my files etc! Looking forward to moving into the spare room later in the year
