Word Bandit Review and Giveaway
As well as Wally the Washer, Drumond Park has sent us another great family-friendly game in the form of Word Bandit. This is definitely, to quote them, a classic in the making. I can recall a time when I used to find the one-armed bandits still frequenting our arcades. Of course, those days are gone so this is a great chance for our children to have the experience – albeit in a different environment!

How do you play Word Bandit?
All you need to do is pull the lever to set it in motion, then, when the letters appear, it’s a race against time to use the ones on show.
There are four easy word games to take part in. These are as follows:
Game 1: One Row of letters. All you need to do is think of any word containing two of the three letters shown. You can have the letters in any order. You may even be able to use all three letters!
Game 2: Two rows of letters. Your playing piece on the board will be sitting on a category. You will need to think of words using the two rows of letters – 6 in total – which associate with your category and start with any of the letters on show.
Game 3: Initials of famous people. Think of famous people whose initials are amongst the three rows of letters on show. These letters don’t need to be next to each either. Think film stars, politicians, musicians, TV presenters and more!
Game 4: Winding Words. Use all four rows of letters for this one. You need to find any words spelled out across the rows of letters using ones which are beside each other either side, above, below or diagonally.
The Word Bandit
There is an added element to this game! If the face of the Word Bandit appears instead of a letter then your team is at a disadvantage and has one less letter to play with during their turn. It does mean an extra challenge for your team to overcome. The Word Bandit can be extra cheeky and turn up on more than one row – but, if he shows up on three rows in a one or two row game then that team can have a free spin.
