Bigjigs Toys Build Up Train Review
Whenever we invest in toys for Rex, we want to make sure that they are real quality – as well as being something he would use, of course! I have had my eye on Bigjigs ever since we started trying for a baby so, when they approached me recently I was extremely pleased.

Who are Bigjigs?
Appropriately starting off in a shed in Kent (my Grandad used to make us things in his shed all the time!), Bigjigs was started by Peter who hand crafted wooden jigsaws. He then sold these at craft fairs across the country with his wife, Liz. Being teachers, they both had child development at the forefront of what they were doing.
The company is now situated in a large warehouse in Folkestone, Kent and distributes toys worldwide to 93 countries.
Build Up Train
I have mentioned before that Rex loves to stack and build, so I knew that the build up train would be perfect for him.
In the box is a wooden train with 2 separate carriages which all fix together to make a great pull along toy – perfect for Rex who has just started to walk.
I am one of those adults whose attention span is fairly limited when it comes to children’s toys so this is as great one for me! There are 28 different stacking pieces in total and lots of different ways to build up both the carriages and the train. It never seems to get boring!
Many of the wooden blocks are beautifully coloured and detailed and they come in all types of shapes and sizes. With the fact that the pieces are so different and there are many different ways to configure it, this train is going to offer Rex hours of fun.
This particular toy encourages mobility, helps to develop dexterity and co-ordination and is made from high quality, responsibly sourced materials. Like all of Bigjigs products, it conforms to European safety standards.
My thoughts
This toy is beautifully made and well thought out. There are plenty of bricks of different shapes and sizes for Rex to practice his stacking, building and to use his dexterity. A definite winner from both mine and Rex’s perspective. Plus a very reasonable price of £21.49.
