The Casdon Pick n Mix Sweet Shop Toy
*Gifted Item for review*

I think many kids dream about owning a sweet shop. I know I did! I can remember Grace playing shops at an early age and now, Rex is doing the same. With his imaginary play in full swing, this fantastic Pick n Mix Sweet Shop from Casdon is the perfect addition to any toy collection. As an added bonus, it comes with actual real sweets!

Who are Casdon?

Casdon Toys are the masters of role play toys. For over 70 years, their family business have been supporting children in their role play adventures on a voyage to discover, learn and develop. And from what I have seen, they are complete masters at this.
The Pick n Mix Sweet Shop
Rex has a real passion for sweets. He has already learned the role of shopkeeper having come on numerous shopping trips, especially our food shopping visits prior to lockdown. I have to admit to not missing these as usually Rex would want something down every aisle!

The sweet shop features a display counter incorporating an opening cash drawer and working scales to weigh the sweeties. In addition, there are two sweet jars with removable lids, a little scoop, coins and bank notes.

There is a large selection of favourite sweets and lollipops included. Rex has enjoyed his continued learning with colours by putting all the pink sweets in one jar and the orange in another. He also loved the little slots for the lollipop sticks and small compartments for the various sweet sizes.

There is even more learning to be had with counting skills with the money as well as weighing skills for the sweets.

This Pick n Mix Sweet Shop has fulfilled many of his dreams. With the fact that he has become shopkeeper, he takes control of the pennies as mum, dad and big sister, Grace all pay him a visit. However, the danger we do have here is that he is going to eat all his profits!

Ways to play

This set is easy to set up. There are a couple of little stickers to place onto the product and the money needs removing from its plastic holder, but other than that it is very straightforward with no batteries required. Simply place it on a table or the floor and you are off. Note: you may want to hide some of the sweets to make sure they don’t all disappear in one go!

Final Thoughts

Suitable for ages 3+, this a great role play toy not only as a shopkeeper but to help Rex with his counting and colours – as well as his passion for sweets! Every little – and big – kids dream.

Aww! How cute! I am sure my teen had this when she was about Rex’s age or it was one pretty similar.
It’s a great little set x
