Just a Moment from a Touch. A poem for my girl.
A week ago tomorrow, Grace went away. I have missed her very much but I really hope she has enjoyed herself. I have made sure I have put some time aside to spend with her when she gets home tomorrow afternoon.
When she went I presented her with a Unicorn journal. She has longed for it for over a year and I have kept it hidden since that time! That was until last Monday morning when I presented it to her. I also wrote a poem in the back.
A Moment from a Touch
If you’re feeling lonely
Or if you’re feeling blue
Take a look inside your heart
We are there with you
If you’re feeling angry
Or if you’re feeling sad
Just remember all the happy times
Then things aren’t so bad
If you’re feeling happy
And having a great time
That is such a fab thing
A good and joyous sign
If you’re feeling scared
Or things are going wrong
Just remember Friday’s
And our very special song
Just remember we love you
So very very much
We are just a heartbeat away

Lovely poem and one that strikes a chord with every parent away from their child for whatever reason.

That’s beautiful! Brought a tear to my eye. Can really relate to it at the moment as both of my boys have been away for 10 days now. They’re home on Wednesday evening – I can’t wait!
