Join the National Trust’s Cadbury Eggsplorers Easter Egg Hunt

To me, Easter is not only synonymous with chocolate eggs, but also with the great outdoors. Spring has sprung, the weather is improving (hopefully!) and it is time for some lovely long sunny walks – and that is where the National Trust comes in.

As a child, my Grandma used to take us for lots of school holiday outings and included in these visits were many National Trust properties including Clandon Park and Polesden Lacy. I can remember many a happy day running through the beautiful gardens and having a look around the decadent stately homes.

This Easter there is an even better – and rather sweet – reason to visit a National Trust location near you. Over a quarter of a million Cadbury Eggheads have been delivered to National Trust properties ready for the annual Cadbury Eggsplorers Easter Egg Trails.

21.5 tonnes of chocolate eggs have been provided by Cadburys for the event and the lovely staff at the National Trust have been getting creative with the places they have had to hide the thousands of them so no one finds the eggs before Easter. Temporary locations include inside of grandfather clocks, pianos, vases and bookcases.

250,000+ Eggheads are now in place, ready for families to release their seeking skills at these adventurous trails which are taking place all across the country. Over 300 properties are taking part and the National Trust are expecting this event, now in it’s eighth year, to attract a similar number to the 680,000 people who got involved last year. Sounds like I need to get in fast!
