A Diving Gull
As I photograph more and more birds, I have started to realise what interesting subjects they are. How they move on land and in the air and, in the case of some, on the water. Last weekend when we went to West Bay we really enjoyed watching all the gulls in the harbour. I could have spent hours sitting there taking photos – but I think Ross and Grace would have gotten rather bored! This is one of my favourites.

Now, now! That is stunning shot, huni. Does look even more beautiful in black and white. xx
Birds are one of my frustration! I cant get photos of them! Like proper ones! I always end up with empty photos as they move too fast for me! This one is amazing! I need to ask for tip on how to get them on time =) #mysundayphoto
WOW You are very talented, that is an amazing shot x
That is such a compliment. Thank you Rachael x
That is an amazing shot. I constantly am impressed and slightly envious of your talent. I am getting a new camera for my birthday, I am hoping to improve my skills!
That is a really wonderful compliment – thank you Karen. Always happy to pass on what I know xx
Just beautiful, his wing looks like glass #MySundayPhoto
Thank you Mary 🙂 x
Great timing and I like the black and white.
Thank you 🙂
Oh wow, this is stunning Victoria.. great shot 🙂
Thank you so much Claire 🙂
Brilliant shot. So hard to get birds – I’m either not ready with my camera, or they just move and I’ve not got my settings right.
Thank you so much Emma 🙂
Oh wow that’s such a good capture, and shows such drama in that one shot!
This is fanrastic! Sarah
Wow! Brilliant action shot!
Oh wow what a fantastic capture – they are such interesting creatures aren’t they! I love the black and white in this one =)
Fabulous capture Victoria. How perfect is that! Would look great on the wall.
Fabulous photo, I really am envious of your skills. I do love to watch birds in action though, even if I can’t capture them.
This is amazing.
And timed perfectly to catch the droplets of water.
The B&W effect really sets it off too, fab capture 🙂 x
Amazing shot, such clarity, even down to the droplets of water. Well done!
Great timing, I can only take photos of things that can’t move. I love the editing on this.
Thank you for linking up
I’m so jealous of this photo, it’s just brilliant!
You really are so good at taking photos of birds! This is a fantastic shot.
My family would totally have got bored too if I was sat taking photos for too long!
Fabulous shot huni x
Fantastic capture, the timing on this shot is fab!
What a gorgeous photo! Brilliant
What amazing timing, bet your so chuffed with that capture! #mysundayphoto
Wow, this is beautiful Victoria.. I never seem to press the button at the right time x
Brilliant capture! I’d be curious t know if you did this in burst mode?
Hi Victoria, love the photo too. The gull looks totally focused on whatever is in it’s sights. I recently spent ages trying to get some shots of the house Martins and Swallows swooping over the river, but with no luck. Something else to practice!
xx
What a shot! I find taking photos of birds so difficult, they are either out of focus or I just get a wing or leg 🙂 I think it works well in B&W too. # MySundayPhoto
Birds are amazing creatures! That is just beautiful!
Another fabulous action shot! Love that you’ve caught the splash too. Love that the one you shared on Instagram too x
That’s brilliant! That’s amazing to get such a shot when the action was happening at such speed
I do like it in monochrome; you really focus on the action
Wow!
I love your bird photos, you capture them so beautifully in so many interesting positions.
I love the way you’ve caught the gull mid-dive and the black and white really brings out the detail in this shot – what a wonderful capture 🙂
Another fantastic action shot! Works really well with the monochrome shades.
A great shot and perfect edited to black and white. I saw your instagram photo of a seagull stretching it’s wings too. Brilliant.
Have a super Sunday.
