The Excitement of Buying for Your Baby

It is no secret that Ross and I have been trying for a baby for over 2½ years now. We paid a visit to the Fertility Show a couple of weeks ago and, thanks to that, we now have a plan which we will put into place in the New Year. On top of that, I have been keeping a diary of my feelings about my secondary infertility along with many other things and I will be sharing that at some point too.

One of the things I feel completely cheated out of from my last pregnancy is going baby shopping with the father-to-be. Grace’s father showed absolutely no interest nor excitement about choosing all the baby items we would need. In fact, he regularly shirked coming with me and I got quite desperate as it got nearer to Grace’s due date. Thankfully my mum came to the rescue and took me around to find many things, including a travel system from a little shop in Camberley. She kindly paid for most of it too. Grace had the cot that I used when I was a baby and we found a rocking chair on eBay for me to use when I fed her.

When we do eventually hit the jackpot, I have no doubt whatsoever that Ross will be extremely excited and will want to be involved in every single aspect – and that includes choosing which of the larger items we are going to need for our baby.

Of course, the fact that I am not expecting doesn’t mean that every so often I can’t have a look at what products there are out there. One of the many sites I like to look through is Online4Baby. They stock car seats, highchairs, stairgates, walkers and toys among many other things.

I have to say that I really dislike staying in for deliveries but this company also offer an express delivery service with a precise one hour time slot. 

The next time around is going to be so much fun shopping for a new baby. I just hope we won’t have to wait too much longer.
