Betrayal – Day 2 of National Poetry Writing Month #NaPoWriMo
My second poem for National Poetry Writing Month is Betrayal.
Betrayal
I thought we were a team, you and me
I thought you had joined our family tree
All the things you were saying about me
They lead to your betrayal
When we first started I was full of hope
But our love became a kaleidoscope
It soon went down a slippery slope
So full of your betrayal
Little did I know that there were others
When you told me you were at your mothers
I should have listened to my sisters and brothers
I overlooked your betrayal
I started to see and I grew strong
I needed to move up and move on
Now I’m happy, found a love lifelong
I left behind your betrayal

Just brilliant. I wish you hadn’t had to write this from personal experience but I suppose that’s where the strength of emotion comes from xox
