The Back to the Garden Campaign with Sudocrem
*Remunerated Post in Association with Sudocrem*

As you may have seen, we have had the pleasure of working with Sudocrem for the second year in a row. This year they are encouraging every to get growing with their Back to the Garden campaign during lockdown.
About the Back to the Garden Campaign
It is a project which aims to encourage children into the garden whilst they can’t attend school and do something which will yield great results. It is a fantastic way to spend time. Not only is it healthy, it is teaching kids where many foods come from and, with our toddler, it is helping to teach patience. You cannot have it NOW!

This is a fantastic project and one that we have really taken to our hearts. It has given us the chance to reconnect and grow more plants and even start to put some seeds in for our own vegetables.

Win a Gardening Kit

Last month, I ran a competition here on my blog, where you could be in with the chance to win a gardening kit and get started on your ow outdoor adventure. My one’s closed, but you can still win one on the Sudocrem website until the end of the month.
We were lucky enough to receive our own Outdoor Back to the Garden gardening kit in the post last week! Here’s what they look like:

As you can see, Rex is rather pleased with his lot!

Thanks to the lockdown and, of course, Sudocrem, we have started to grow vegetables – something we have never done before. I ordered some fantastic growing bags with little windows in so we can harvest the crop easily.
You can probably see that our project has been spread out over a week as Rex has had a haircut in between!

We also made little notices to be able to tell which were carrots and which were potatoes using the packets and stickers we were sent together with a couple of straws.

We have a few more projects going on. We are growing strawberries and we are about to grow some herbs (the seeds are on their way) and, thanks to our new kit we have some Marigolds to plant to grow alongside the clematis, peony and a number of other flowers we already have coming through.

If you want some inspiration for projects you could do at home, you can have a look on the Sudocrem website for activities recommended by professional gardeners from all over the country. One of the things I have found tricky is where to put different things so this tip from M.T. O’Donnell from The Pink Wheelbarrow on mapping out the garden really helped us!

The great thing about gardening is that it doesn’t matter whether you have a big garden or a small terrace. The yields of your labour come to everyone if you try. Give it a go yourself and let me know how it goes!
