The BabyBjörn Travel Cot. A Review.

One of the things we have had to take into consideration this Christmas is the fact that we have an extra person to transport around to respective family members, with the likelihood of at least one night staying over. My mum has a travel cot as she already has 7 other grandchildren, but not so with Ross’ parents. Thankfully we were offered the BabyBjörn Travel Cot for a review, just in time for Christmas. But before that, we were able to use it for our holiday to Center Parcs.

The new BabyBjörn Travel Cot

The BabyBjörn Travel Cot is a compact, portable baby bed. It is extremely light-weight and folds out easily. It weighs just 5kgs and has angled sides which helps it fit small spaces. This is a great help in the smaller hotel rooms and will benefit us over Christmas.

The sides have see-through mesh panels on its sides. It also comes with a soft mattress making it a cosier place for your little one to sleep.

The travel cot fabric is free from harmful substances and approved to the correct standards for baby products. The mattress cover and travel cot fabric are easy to remove and are machine washable.

Weight: 6 kg (including carry bag).
Mattress: 60 x 105 x 4 cm
Assembled: 82 x 112 x 64 cm
Folded up in carry bag: 49 x 60 x 14 cm

The travel cot is suitable from newborn to approximately 3 years of age.

Our thoughts

Firstly, the fact that this is so easy and quick to put together is fabulous. You don’t want to waste any of your precious time away and this travel cot certainly doesn’t do that. Also, during the day, if you need to move it around for any reason (in our case, to get to the wardrobe) then it is really easy to do so.

The mesh sides made it very easy to see Rex and keep an eye on him. I was a little apprehensive about him being in a different bed so low to the floor. I needn’t have been though. The mattress felt extremely comfortable and he slept in a similar way to how he does at home.

The final great thing about this cot is the storage when you aren’t using it. The mattress folds easily and fits into a carry bag then, the main structure of the cot folds and fits inside of the mattress into the bag which then zips up without any trouble.

The only thing to bear in mind is that the cot does not come with a mattress cover. This is something you will have to buy separately.

Overall, this is a fantastic travel cot which we shall be using for years to come.
