A Song for the Weekend #7 Ever Present Past by Paul McCartney
I have been a big fan of not just The Beatles for a very long time, but also of Paul McCartney. He has gone on to forge an amazing solo career and fabulous back catalogue of so many amazing songs. I am at a loss sometimes of how he manages to keep on coming up with such great music.
The last album of his that I really loved was aptly called ‘Memory Almost Full’ and my favourite track on that album is ‘Ever Present Past’. It was released in 2007 – the year Grace was born – when Paul was 65 years old (he certainly doesn’t look it in the video though!).
What I really love about this song is that sometimes, when I feel that life is getting too busy, I listen to it and remember that if I don’t stop and enjoy things then it will pass me by and I will regret it.
Take a moment and stop and listen to this one. You might feel the same.

Hi Victoria, if I look half as good at 65 I will be a very happy lady! The upside of a baby face maybe? I think we’re all guilty of thinking we have plenty of time, but time passes much more quickly than we realize until sometimes it’s too late.
Have a great weekend.
xx
Nice message of the song! He doesnt look his age here and he is rocking those chucks too! #pocolo
It’s great, isn’t it Merlinda?! 🙂 x
What a great song to start your weekend! I must admit that I’ve never really listened to Paul McCartney. I like the beatles and my parents were huge fans of them. But you may have inspired me to download some music now. Thanks x
Thanks Catie – I am so glad it has inspired you. He has some great material x
