A Land Full of Magic – a Poem for Ireland
A Land Full of Magic
Myth and legend
Folklore and fables
So full of mystery
Time weaves it’s tales
Passed down from generation
Each one carrying to the next
This land full of magic
Let no one forget
The fairies of the Causeway
The Children turn to Swans
Benandonner and Finn McColl
Forever let them live on
Full of heart and soul
Listen now and relish
Dalriada, Glenara guide you
With their anecdote embellish
Though we move on now
We know their legends here will last
Keep traditions a-flowing
Their future anchored in the past

Lovely verse and fantastic photo. I would love to go to Ireland, I’m so jealous!
Thank you Lucy 🙂 I really do totally recommend it! x
I love this, I really got the magic and wonder of your holiday and of Ireland. Beautifully written
Thank you so much Becky – really glad you did 🙂 x
I love that last line Vicky, in fact the whole last verse. Very clever and really conjures up the folklore of Ireland! Thanks for hosting #prose4t
I love Ireland, my family comes from all over the Southern part and it always has something new to show me about their past. Your poem absolutely does it justice, well done.
Brilliant memories evoked
Of cold Guiness
Listening to folk bands
And pies with mash
That is a lovely verse – thank you Louise 🙂
Oh, I loved this, especially the last line. Beautiful words x
Thank you Sara 🙂 x
Fab, especially loved ‘a-flowing’, such a great movement to it. I also love your picture. I’m embarrassed to say that despite living a mere ferry ride away I’ve still never been to Ireland. I shall have to rectify that soon!
Thank you so much Cara – I definitely recommend it x
