Slimming World Fast Forward – Day 5

On Monday 8th June, I started the Slimming World Fast Forward programme. I am now on day 5 and I am feeling SO much better. The hunger pangs are still there but, in a funny way, I look forward to them. It helps me to appreciate my food.

WHAT IS SLIMMING WORLD FAST FORWARD?
Slimming World say that Fast Forward is a slimmer’s equivalent of a strait-jacket. For those periods when we are stuck or feel like rebelling. Sometimes, a week doing this will help.
The plan is carefully designed by top experts in the field of weight loss and nutrition. It is healthy and very effective and, as a Consultant, we have the tools to personalise the plan for the member by using a calculation which takes into account your metabolic rate and activity level so that you are given the correct number of units per day for your food allowance.
Once your Total Daily Unit allowance has been calculated, you can include a salad or vegetable unit each day for free and then choose from the Light Meal, Main Meal and Snacks section to make up your Total Daily Unit allowance. You get at least 18 per day. My calculations have given me 20.
It is even more strict in the fact that, if there are any minor parts to the meal that you don’t like, you can miss them out but you CANNOT add anything extra to the meal choices (in my opinion, just don’t choose them in the first place!).
You have to vary your choices and make sure you drink at least 500ml of water each morning, afternoon and evening. Snacks do include things like crumpets, jaffa cakes and even alcohol but even then, it is strict.
You have to make your choices at the beginning of the week and stick to them. This isn’t going to be easy!
Friday 12TH JUNE
It was a little quieter this morning. I had said to Ross that I would make a bacon sandwich but then I backtracked on that and took a yoghurt and banana up to work with me. I was so busy working that I kind of forgot about my yoghurt and gradually ate it throughout the morning!
I saved my units once again for the afternoon and that really helped.
Ross started with me on Monday, and Friday is his weigh day. In 5 days he has lost 3lbs. I will update you again with both mine and his on Monday!
THE FOOD I ATE
BREAKFAST

Raspberry and Cranberry Mueller Light yoghurt. 1 small banana
LUNCH

155g Jacket potato with 50g chicken, 1 level tablespoon of reduced fat mayo, salad leaves with balsamic vinegar.
DINNER

100g roast chicken (with seasoning) 175g boiled potatoes, 75g carrots, 75g cauliflower and 150ml of gravy made with granules and water for an extra unit.
SNACKS
1 apple with 15g danish blue cheese, 1 nectarine
DRINKS
3 cups of black coffee, 1 pint of water, 2 glasses of diet lemonade
HOW I FELT
I am so nearly there! But I have to say that I do miss food optimising and I cannot wait to get back to cooking free food and being on plan. I love how this has made me rethink things.
I am really enjoying black coffee so I’m thinking of continuing with that and having less white coffee.
I was worried about it being Friday night but we got through and it was fine.
A note to myself to drink a bit more tomorrow.
EXERCISE
Lots of dancing with the kids (combined with lots of laughing!).
WEIGH-IN
Weight at the beginning of my Slimming World Fast Forward week: 164lbs
My Target Weight: 152lbs
