Truly Unique Tours for your next trip to London

What’s not to love about a trip to London? Seeing the whole city under your feet from the London Eye, exploring the many markets and cuisines of Camden’s dense streets, and who could forget about Buckingham Palace?

That being said, a city so chock full of activities, with new and exciting things to see on every corner, can seem a little overwhelming at first.

Not to worry! If you don’t know what to look out for, someone else can show you the way. There is an incredible number of guided tours spread across the city, showcasing the most historical, beautiful and downright weird and wonderful London has to offer.

From an adrenalin-filled speedboat cruise to a nail biting journey through the history of Jack the Ripper, your trip to London is sure to have everything you didn’t realise you were looking for.

Spy and Espionage Tour

If you fancy yourself a bit of a James Bond or have an eye for secrets hidden in plain sight, this tour is the one for you! Sneak your way through the shady world of international espionage, learning about the daring exploits of England’s most famous spies from your expert guide, and discover the sites of secret agents both past and present.

Explore the past at ‘dead-drop’ sites, where spies exchanged covert information, see the home of MI6 and the headquarters of MI5 (where the secret service remain to this day!) and hear their tales of secrecy and double-crossing.

As the tour draws to a close, put your feet up with a drink at the St Ermin’s Hotel, the former headquarters of MI6, and try your hand at cracking its secret code. An unforgettable tour that puts you in the shoes of the men and women who worked in the shadows to protect our country.

From a speedboat cruise to a journey through the history of Jack the Ripper, a trip to London has everything you didn’t realise you were looking for.

Jack the Ripper Tour

Though utterly fascinating, this one may not be for the faint of heart! You’ve been warned…

The story of Jack the Ripper is one wrapped in mystery and fear, with the infamous killer’s motives or identity still perplexing London to this day. If you’re feeling brave, wait until the sun goes down and stalk the same cobbled alleys and streets that were once rife with terror, with only lamp and moonlight to guide you…and your guide of course!

Follow your resident Ripperologist as they tell the grisly tales and show you the gory crime sites that left London’s early police force scratching their heads and shaking in their boots. You’ll get your fill of fright, intrigue and 19th century history on this evening exposing London’s darkest hour – you might even get yourself a full belly with, giving yourself some time to relax and recover.

Experience the timeless British classic with a spot of fish and chips before immersing yourself in the history with a restored Victorian bar…though they say Jack the Ripper himself once preyed here, watching for unsuspecting victims…

The Cheese Crawl

Now, I love cheese as much as the next person, but it’s fair to say this one fits into the ‘weird and wonderful’ category!

Whether you consider yourself a real connoisseur of all things cheesy, or simply want a conversation piece that’ll make your friends’ ears stand up, the London cheese crawl is a deliciously quirky way to spend an afternoon. Sample the rarest and best cheeses England has to offer as you traverse the city – from the refined delight of prosecco cheese, to the very same blue stilton the royals pair with their wine at Fortnum & Mason’s.

Follow your guide as you amble from Mayfair, to Piccadilly to Covent Garden, testing your wits as well as your taste buds. Sink your teeth into the best toasty and mozzarella pizza London has to offer, as well as learning the history of these world-renowned cheese counters and competing for the title of the big-cheese in their interactive Formaggio trivia quiz.

What curd be a better whey to spend a day? (Sorry!)

Speedboat Tours

When you think about London, what comes to mind? Maybe it’s that unique blend of Victorian and modern architecture, the buzz and bustle of urban life or the imposing and timeless Tower Bridge. With the many speedboat rides offered along the Thames, you can see all this and so much more, with a whistle-stop tour of the varied and impressive Londonian sights.

All the sight-seeing of a regular tour but with the important distinction of no walking (a rare blessing when it comes to London!) and the added thrills of going 55 kilometres-an-hour down Britain’s most iconic river. See tower bridge from a brand new point of view, keep an eye out for the London Eye and try and catch a glimpse of Big Ben before it becomes a dot on the horizon. Plus, your onboard expert guides are chosen for their comedy and knowledge, entertaining and educating throughout, giving you a truly unique experience of London’s landmarks like you’ve never seen before.

All I can say is, take a raincoat and hold on tight!

  1. London is considered a very safe city. Even though there are parts that are dangerous and should be avoided, it is, for the most part, completely safe to travel to, and if you use your common sense, your trip should go smoothly.
