NaPoWriMo Day 12 – How High I Can Really Be

I am a bit late with my NaPoWriMo poem today but I have still made it! It’s been a manic week and I feel a little bit out of myself this evening trying to regroup my thoughts and the massive life changing things that are currently happening. I wrote the following from the heart in just 5 minutes.
How High I Can Really Be
Nothing, barren, all around
Sometimes lost, sometimes found
Pick myself up off the ground
Whatever, please don’t make a sound
I always thought that I was blind
But now there is a way to find
What I held within my mind
Leave the bloody past behind
You can raise me up to see
How high I can really be
So all I ask, please come to me
At no cost, no added fee

This is lovely. Very eloquently put & thought provoking indeed. I echo Nell’s sentiment of ‘good luck with everything’ – I have a feeling you’ll come out just fine, with this attitude.

Very thought-provoking and inspired. You have expressed your thoughts beautifully
Vicky, this poem was just what I needed to read this morning. It spoke to me directly because of a couple of things that have happened recently. Thank you for sticking to NaPoWriMo despite everything that’s going on over there! Good luck with it all. x
