I don’t know about you, but I love a good gin. The fact that it used to have the tagline ‘mother’s ruin’ often makes me chuckle. I would have to protest that these days, gin is more of a go-to treat at the end of a long week!
Seeing as I am a bit of a gin connossieur in my later years, I have decided to put a compilation together of some of my current favourites as ideas for a Mothers Day gift to share with you.

SILENT POOL GIN GIFT SET

As a child I used to visit the Silent Pool near Guildford, so this gift set really resonated with me. I thought it was a brilliant idea for a present as not only is it gin(!) but there is a meaning behind it.
The distillery produces quality handcrafted, artisan spirits and they are situated in an extraordinary location on the Duke of Northumberland’s Albury Estate, nestled in the heart of the Surrey Hills. A group of dilapidated farm buildings on the banks of the legendary Silent Pool were transformed to become the home of the Silent Pool Distillers.
The gin itself is produced in the distillery using water drawn from the Silent Pool and handcrafted to form a contemporary floral London Dry gin of uncompromising quality.
Available from the Master of Malt, this gift set features a 70cl bottle of gin and a pair of branded glasses and costs £62.95. Also available from Amazon and other great stores.
brockmans gin

Brockmans is a 40% ABV gin made in England and packaged in stylish and tactile black glass. I love a smooth gin meaning that I can have it neat if I choose and this brand can be enjoyed just that way either over ice or straight.
This gin brims with blueberry and blackberry notes which together with the dry, bitter-sweet peel of Valencian oranges and other botanicals serve to give Brockmans a distinctively different and beautiful taste.
If your mother is a cocktail-lover, a range of stylish merchandise is now on sale through the Brockmans Shop, an online store selling an exclusive collection of merchandise. https://www.brockmansgin.com/shop/
Goodies include bottle openers, jiggers, ice buckets, swizzle spoons and cocktail shakers. A best seller is the gift pack containing a bottle of Brockmans and a copa glass, just the thing for a Perfect Serve Brockmans Gin & Tonic on Mother’s Day – and every day. There is also a lavishly illustrated cocktail recipe book, The Black Book of Gin Cocktails.
mermaid gin

I have shared my thoughts on Mermaid Gin in previous gift guides but I knew I had to join them together for this guide. Both bottles are beautifully presented with the glass pattern mimicking fish scales. Not only is the bottle striking though, it is also plastic-free and uses entirely recyclable materials – including a plant-based seal around its wooden cork.
Their flagship bottle is a smooth yet complex blend that features the freshness of organic lemon zest, the peppery notes in grains of paradise and a hint of sea air from fragrant rock samphire. The latter, foraged from the Isle of Wight’s cliffs, is known locally as ‘Mermaid’s Kiss’, hence the gin’s name!
Aromatic and refreshing, Mermaid Pink Gin infuses the flavour of fresh Isle of Wight strawberries with the smooth yet complex taste of Mermaid Gin, a blend of lemon zest, grains of paradise and fragrant rock samphire. The latter, foraged from the island’s cliffs, is known locally as ‘Mermaid’s Kiss’, hence the gin’s name!
Available from Amazon, John Lewis and all great stores, priced at around £40.

The Pink Gin Collection

Flavoured gins are a huge hit with me and it can be tricky to decide which ones to go for. With that in mind, this Gin Gift Set which contains 4 pink gin miniatures is perfect for me.
The set contains 5cl Miniatures: 1 x Whitley Neil Raspberry Gin, 1 x Edinburgh Gin Plum & Vanilla, 1 x Gordons Pink Gin & 1 x Greenall’s Wild Berry Gin in a well presented gift set box meaning that I can decide which of the bigger bottles I would like to buy next!
