Is it sad to give out a little cheer when you get a new pair of boots through the post and try them on and really love them? Because I am not ashamed to admit that this is what I did when my black pair of long XTI boots arrived in the post this week.
I live in boots almost all year round. Not wellies, I hasten to add, but the fashionable kind that go really well with my leggings. Last year I got a great pair from a local supermarket (where good food costs less) and I have worn them to death. I was so disappointed when, at the beginning of the summer, I noticed a hole in the fabric at the bottom near the heel.
So, the timely approach from Sole Trader was perfect. With Autumn on the horizon, I was starting to wonder what to do about my search for the latest pair for my wardrobe (not that they would be spending much time in there!). They offer free deliveries and free returns so I was keen to see what they had on offer.
Hunting through their main site, I came across a pair of DKNYs that I really liked so I requested these only to find, that when they arrived, they didn’t fit. For some reason I find the boots, where the zip doesn’t do all the way up to the top, really uncomfortable. So, these were duly sent back. I have to say that Sole Trader’s returns are pretty straightforward. You just find your nearest Collect + store, print off the label, re-pack the parcel and take it along. Mine was a 10 minute drive away. On top of all that, it’s free!
Searching through their site again, I was starting to despair but then I was pointed towards their outlet site. I have to say that I found the selection here even better at a much more competitive price.
This time I made sure that the pair I chose had a zip all the way up to the top. My other must was that they were black – I have much preferred black ones this last year.
The pair I finally opted for were the XTI 27511 boots. They were perfect. With an elasticated back, zip all the way up to the top and decorative buckles. When they arrived, I was really impressed with the packaging. Inside the box, each boot came in it’s own drawstring back and pieces of paper protected the metal buckles. The zipper pull is the XTI logo, the lining is leopard skin print fleece and the base of the boot is decorated with a pretty cool skull (I’d better keep them away from Grace now I have seen this! She would love them).
The best thing is that they are comfortable – and inexpensive, reduced from £59.99 to £39.99.
I would certainly recommend the outlet section of Sole Trader. Why not take a look for yourself?
