Bloggers on Instagram – #DearGeorgie for Mamas Haven
Once again the world of blogging is being rocked by sadness. One of the bloggers who has regularly linked up to #PoCoLo is losing her baby.
Oana (pronounced Wana) Chirila who blogs at Mamas Haven, was born in Romania and her mum cared for her during the political regime that happened there. She then moved to Northern Ireland and lives there with her Greek husband and daughter, Emma.
Their son, George Ioannis was born in January this year. I remember Oana linking up to PoCoLo during her pregnancy. She and her husband had George after a long wait but now their joy has turned to pain. George is dying. He has acute megakaryoblastic leukemia, a subtype of acute myeloid leukemia. They have tried chemotherapy. They have tried everything. He is now in a hospice where his parents and his sister are spending as much time as possible to preserve as many memories as they can of Georgie. They are losing him. And goodness only knows the pain they must be feeling.
Oana and her faith in God knows no bounds and I constantly see messages she has shared regarding her belief and how much it must be helping her.
Oana has written a post – 100 things her boy will miss and you can find part 1 here. She has started a Facebook group, Dear Georgie, and she has asked as many people as possible to help. This includes bloggers. And that is where you come in.
I have decided to start an Instagram link up. Oana has asked for messages for Georgie and that is what we can give her. So, please, take a photo of a message you or your children have written for Georgie, maybe take a photo of you holding it or your kids or you and your kids. A quote, a bible passage, words of love. Maybe use an Instagram post maker to assist you. Help the family know we are thinking of them. Help keep his memory alive for his family. Share it in the link below and share it on her Facebook group.
Please use the hashtag #deargeorgie and link the URL to your instagram photo below. Lets help this blogger in her hour of need. After all, it is one of the things the blogging community is so very, very good at.
You can find Oana’s Facebook group here. More details of how to help Oana are in the PoCoLo Facebook group.
