Why I Love Diet Chef. A Review.

3TPO_MI think, as with most women, I have strived for the perfect body most of my life – with special attention to my main area of concern – my bum! I used to drive my brother mad with the well-known saying ‘does my bum look big in this?’ I could never remember his answer because I was too busy trying to look at my rear view from the front in my mirror!

These days I feel that my main area of concern is my health and fitness. Every thing else should follow from there.  I recently tried another diet and lost 4.6lbs in 7 days (safe to say that I put most of that back on again) but the ‘food’ – or should I say packets of dried stuff that I added water to – wasn’t exactly to my taste. With Diet Chef, this couldn’t be further from the truth!

When Diet Chef said that they would like to work with me, I was thrilled. Their diet looks easy to follow, simple to understand and, best of all, tasty. I wasn’t wrong.

So, on Monday, with a new month and a new attitude, I started my new Health and Fitness Quest. I have already told you all about my Fitbug Orb and given you a first impression. Now I need to do the same with Diet Chef.

Never have I enjoyed a diet so much and, really, I am not just saying that. The portions are already measured out for you and, I would like to share with you what my breakfasts, lunches, snacks and dinners have consisted of so far this week:

photo 3 (3)Breakfast – Chocolate Granola, Gluten Free Fruity Muesli, Chocolate Protein Bar, Soft Chocolate Cookie, Toffee and Pecan Granola

Lunch – Ham and Sweetcorn Chowder, Cream of Tomato Soup, Oxtail Soup, Chicken Mulligatawny Soup – all with a piece of sunflower rye bread, all followed by a piece of fruit

Snacks – Caramelised Onion Oat Bites, Salt and Vinegar Popcorn, Sweet Maple Popcorn, Sweet and Salty Popcorn

photo 2 (10)Dinner – Mild Chicken Tikka Masala, Sausages in Onion Gravy with added Thyme and Red Wine, Beef Rogan Josh, Chicken Chasseur. All these served with a side salad consisting of mixed leaves, tomatoes, cucumber and red pepper and a piece of sunflower rye bread. If I fancied pudding then I had a piece of fruit.

I have also added to this two cups of Chai Latte – which is my coffee replacement as I am endeavouring to stay away from caffeine – and lots of water.

I have to say the food feels like I am eating a takeaway – especially the evening meals. What is brilliant is that there is hardly any fuss. I microwave everything so it is quick and easy to prepare and all of it is already measured out for you. The meat in all the dishes is tasty and doesn’t taste ‘fake’ and the actual taste of the dishes are really, really good.

I know that I have already lost weight (I weighed myself this morning) but I am not going to share that with you until Monday morning once I have a whole week under my belt.

Because Diet Chef is educating you with portion size, in order to get your eating under control, I feel that once I do move back to regular eating, I will be able to maintain my weight properly – which is a really important part of losing weight and keeping it off.

    Sounds like a great diet one I could do with. Glad you found something that works for you. My problem is my stomach it was my problem before I had kids and now is even worse after two kids. I guess diet isn’t the only thing I need to be doing, less learning about blogging and photography and more getting off the couch. hahahaha Thanks for sharing this review.
