NaPoWriMo Day 13 – I Wish I Could Do More

I think every Mother knows that feeling of helplessness when their child is sick, wishing they could do something…anything for them. It’s Day 13 of NaPoWriMo and today poor Grace is ill. She was sick at 4am, 5.30am and for most of the morning. She is now sleeping so I have written a poem.

I Wish I Could Do More

Hold your hair, all I can do

I wish I could do more for you

What a brave girl you are

Never crying, well not so far

 

It’s helplessness when you’re a Mum

Making sure with all you’ve done

All through thin, all through thick

I’ll care for you when you are sick

 

I am here with Mummy hugs

I’ll hold you tight through all these bugs

I love you so and will see you through

Anything that infects you
