The BBC Gardener’s World Live will be taking place at the NEC Birmingham from June 16th-19th 2016. This year the show will play host to some of the industry’s biggest names in gardening such as the Skinny Jean Gardeners, Matt Briggs and Monty Don. A cutting-edge collection of show gardens will display some of the latest trends and design concepts in horticulture and outdoor space for ample inspiration for budding landscapers and gardeners.
There will be plenty of shopping opportunities as the RHS Floral Marquee will have a beautiful selection of plants and displays on offer from some of the UK’s top nurseries. Plus the new Rose Festival will be featuring some of the biggest names in roses.
Inspiring creative displays means there will be a cutting-edge collection of Show Gardens on display presenting some of the latest trends and design concepts in horticulture and outdoor space, as well as providing ample inspiration for budding landscapers and gardeners.
A wonderfully diverse array of exhibitors will be present, introducing you to some great brands as well as bringing to you many of Britain’s firm favorites.
New for 2016 will be the VegTrug Stage. This ‘Grow your Own’ Stage is where you’ll find a host of familiar faces showing you how you can make even the smallest of spaces productive and tasty.
As well as BBC Gardeners World Live, the BBC Good Food Show will be running simultaneously and is open to all those with Gardeners World Live Show tickets.
Numerous other demonstrations as well as the new Interview stage, and activities promise to entertain, amuse and educate; while visitors enjoy a day full of fresh air and family fun.

Plant lots of seeds, drink lots of tea and remember to water. Plants just need a little love, not to much fuss!

My best gardening tip is to try to do something in the garden regularly, whether it’s pruning, weeding, p,an ting or watering. The more you do in small bursts the easier it is in the long run – this way you will find time to enjoy sitting in the garden enjoying the fruits of your labours.
Pull weeds out whilst they are still small so they don’t have chance to seed, remember one years seed is seven years weeds

Try to avoid actually standing on the soil as much as possible as you will compact it down and spoil the soil structure

Make sure you rake the debris off the grass in autumn to avoid nasty surprises in spring. Aka saplings!
Always be the supervisor not the labourer lol
If possible install a water butt. Saves wasting rain water and it’s free for watering your garden. A good alternative is a few large pop bottles placed around the garden to collect rainwater in.
Ooh, this would be great! We’ve just got into gardening after we moved out of London in January but I think we need a bit of a helping hand…. between the neighbour’s cat who dug up our carrot shrubs thinking the patch was a litter tray (!!) and the snails, we’ve so far not been hugely successful…
Add a drop of washing up liquid to watering can when watering pots. The water will soak in soul instead of running right through.

Best tip is buy gloves for prickly weeds like in my garden and Google weeds to make sure you are not digging up something worth keeping.
