The Elephant Lovers Gift Guide

Elephants are a pretty big deal in our family. Both Ross’ and my mum are huge Elephant fans and we always look for a tusked mammal related present for both of them each year.

With that in mind, I have decided to compile an elephant lovers gift guide. This is because there is no way that our two mums are not the only ones who love the gentle giants!

Here is my pick of some of the best.

‘Dust to Dust’ Elephant Wentworth puzzle

Puzzles have definitely made a comeback to all our families this year and the wonderful Wentworth always spring to mind when you are seeking a quality wooden jigsaw. They are eco-friendly as all their puzzles are made using wood from sustainably managed forests. The box is also made with recycled materials and no plastic is used in their packaging process.

The aptly named ‘Dust to Dust’ is a puzzle of an image from Delene Lambert, a new artist for Wentworth and depicts an African Bull elephant taking a late afternoon dust bath. The picture was painted from a photo taken in Namibia where it lacks water but has sand by the bucket-load!

Not only is it tricky due to it’s mix of earthy brown tones, I have chosen the MDW4 which means that it is extra difficult as it is theme-cut with elephant shapes, and an uneven edge to add an extra challenge. A great gift priced from £35.

Jana Reinhardt Elephant necklace

This beautiful elephant pendant from Jana Reinhardt jewellery was perfect for my mum last year – and I have seen her regularly wearing it since.

Jana is a qualified artist and goldsmith and she makes all her pieces by hand together with her husband, Ross, also a goldsmith. Together, they have made bespoke pieces for TV series and popstars and Jana Reinhardt’s beautiful crafts have also caught the eye of magazine and newspaper editors.

The elephant is a symbol of commitment, strength and patience and many Feng Shui practitioners believe that elephants should have their trunks facing upwards to represent prosperity, good luck, and success, hence the pose this one has.

Miss Milly Elephant Keyring

Miss Milly is an award winning brand, featuring gorgeous and reasonably priced, quality costume jewellery and fashion accessories, backed up by excellent customer service.

The first elephant piece which caught my eye was this cute black and multicolour spots enamelled elephant keyring. The elephant measures approx 5cm wide by 4cm high and the keyring is strong and well-made. The perfect addition to any bag. Priced £11.85.

Lottie Lane Elephant Cushion

I love this elephant cushion from Lottie Lane. The design is vibrant and hand illustrated, inspired by Lottie’s trip to Kenya, Africa.

The cushions are a cotton and linen blend fabric, with white piping and are printed and made in Britain using water-based inks, which have minimal impact on the environment. Measuring 40 x 40cm, it is machine washable to a maximum of 30 degrees celsius. It comes complete with a luxury duck feather inner and zip to enable the cover to be washed separately.

Lottie Lane is a UK-based textile and homeware business featuring designs which are intended to be bright, playful, fun and energising. All of her designs are hand drawn with minimal use of technology to ensure a real focus on original and authentic design. Charlotte, who launched Lottie Lane in December 2019, is committed to ensuring that products are sourced and created in the U.K using methods that are as eco-friendly as possible, including on organic fabrics using water-based inks. Packaging is made from either re-used or recycled cardboard and includes the use of biodegradable alternatives to plastic packaging.

Miss Milly Magnetic Elephant Brooch

Another gorgeous piece from Miss Milly, whomever came up with this convenient magnetic elephant brooch is genius! It means no damage to your clothing!

The strong magnetic fastening means easy placement and damage-free removal. You could wear this on a coat or jumper, or on a bag or hat, or even as a scarf or pashmina pin. The elephant is beautifully decorated with colourful flowers and measures 5cm high by 5cm wide. Priced at £11.85.

LottiE Lane Elephant Coasters

These coasters are once again from Lottie Lane and are in the same print as the cushion. They come in sets of 4 for £14. Printed and made in Britain, they withstand heat up to 145ºC, and are scratch and stain resistant with a durable cork backing. They measure 11.5cm x 9.5cm.

Trouva Elephant Corkscrew

Any elephant lover who enjoys a tipple or two will welcome this clever elephant corkscrew. The elephant’s coiled tail uncorks the wine bottles whilst the trunk opens the beer bottles. Made from Wood and stainless steel, it measures 7 x 9 x 3.5cm and is available from Trouva, priced £17.49, as well as Amazon and other great online stores.

Critically Endangered Sumatran Elephant Socks

Helping to keep your feet warm as well as contributing to save the Sumatran Elephant are this beautiful striped socks in a partnership between Critically Endangered Socks and The International Elephant Foundation.
