Song for the Weekend #4 – Golden Touch by Razorlight

This week’s Song for the Weekend is a little bit of a change from my normal tastes. That said, I am a big lover of all kinds of music and I would just as readily listen to an MGM musical as I would a song from One Direction!

This week I have chosen the song ‘Golden Touch’ by Razorlight. I have always kind of liked this song and was one that I wouldn’t turn off if it came on the radio but it never really caught my attention that much until a couple of years ago.

In case you weren’t aware, Ross is the lead singer of a band called D-State and it was when I heard their cover of it (which I have to admit is actually BETTER than the original) that it started becoming more of a go-to song for me. It really reminds me of the early days when Ross first started performing with the group. Unfortunately they have now taken it out of their set – but it still remains my favourite of theirs!

In honour of the original version though, I am sharing it below.

  1. I love it when covers are better than the originals. I’ve heard of Razorlight – and I’m sure MOH plays their CDs and I don’t think these have been rejected for being too bang or shouty so I think that’s good. I’m loving this series Vic – thanks so much for linking up to #PoCoLo x
