Slimming World Fast Forward – Day 3

Day 3 of the Slimming World Fast Forward plan.

On Monday 8th June, I started the Slimming World Fast Forward programme. I am now on day 3 and, for most of the day I was OK but as it got to 3.30pm I was struggling!

WHAT IS SLIMMING WORLD FAST FORWARD?

Slimming World say that Fast Forward is a slimmer’s equivalent of a strait-jacket. For those periods when we are stuck or feel like rebelling. Sometimes, a week doing this will help.

The plan is carefully designed by top experts in the field of weight loss and nutrition. It is healthy and very effective and, as a Consultant, we have the tools to personalise the plan for the member by using a calculation which takes into account your metabolic rate and activity level so that you are given the correct number of units per day for your food allowance.

Once your Total Daily Unit allowance has been calculated, you can include a salad or vegetable unit each day for free and then choose from the Light Meal, Main Meal and Snacks section to make up your Total Daily Unit allowance. You get at least 18 per day. My calculations have given me 20.

It is even more strict in the fact that, if there are any minor parts to the meal that you don’t like, you can miss them out but you CANNOT add anything extra to the meal choices (in my opinion, just don’t choose them in the first place!).

You have to vary your choices and make sure you drink at least 500ml of water each morning, afternoon and evening. Snacks do include things like crumpets, jaffa cakes and even alcohol but even then, it is strict.

You have to make your choices at the beginning of the week and stick to them. This isn’t going to be easy!

Wednesday 10TH JUNE

Once again, I was fine in the morning. Got through, no problems. After lunch, I sat down with Rex for some quiet time. He had a cuddle and I had a cup of black coffee. Normally, I would have a snack to go with it but I decided to save that for later.

I have noticed that 4.30pm is my hard time so from tomorrow I have decided to forgo any morning snack as, normally I am too busy to eat and snatch mouthfuls between calls and writing. That may help with the afternoon side. It was difficult today!

With a Zoom new members session planned for 8.30pm, Ross and I decided on another low calorie ready meal so we ate before my call and I still had units left for a snack afterwards.

THE FOOD I ATE

BREAKFAST

Yoghurt under 100cals and 1 crumpet spread with 1 level teaspoon of jam.

Lunch

A chicken sandwich made with 2 slices of wholemeal bread from a 400g loaf, 50g chicken (without skin), spinach leaves and one tablespoon of light mayo.

Dinner

Morrisons Cottage Pie (under 350 cals), salad (my free unit for the day) consisting of leaves, 3 cherry tomatoes and cucumber, balsamic vinegar on the salad and soy sauce on the cottage pie for extra flavour.

Snacks

1 jaffa cake, 1 apple, an apple with 25g danish blue cheese.

DRINKS

3 cups of black coffee, 3 pints of water, 1 glass of diet lemonade (with no added sugar lemon squash to make cloudy lemonade) and a lemon and ginger herbal tea.

HOW I FELT

Yep, it is the afternoon that is the issue here. I am so pleased that I am sticking to this though. I wore some leggings which I wore around 3 weeks earlier and felt SO much more comfortable in them. I don’t know if I am thinking myself slim but it is definitely working!

EXERCISE

Some gardening in the afternoon.

WEIGH-IN

Weight at the beginning of my Slimming World Fast Forward week: 164lbs

My Target Weight: 152lbs
