A Review of Our New Mattress by Leesa

I recently watched a video on Facebook about mums and the fact that they went to bed late at night, despite the fact that they may have had an early start with a baby or small child. The reason for this is that they need some down-time. Time for themselves to be able to just be them. With this in mind, it is very important to me to be able to actually get a good night’s sleep when I eventually do make it to bed!

Why Choose a Mattress by Leesa

One of the first things that appealed to me about the Leesa mattress was the fact that it suits you, whatever position you sleep in. It is made with three premium foam layers to aid support wherever you are positioned in bed. It has been completely redesigned mattress to take this into account. Leesa call it a Universal Adaptive Feel™. One of the things that this is particularly geared towards is couples. The mattress is so adaptable that it suits each partner and the way they choose to sleep.  A look at tconfirms that our customers report a better sleep experience, night after night and that makes us very happy.

In order to keep the costs down, the mattress by Leesa is only available online. This means no hefty overheads for showrooms.

Not only is it a Which? Best Buy, it has also secured a Men’s Health Lab approved award and a Good Housekeeping award too. There are an extraordinary number of 5-star mattress reviews plus, you get a 100 night risk-free trial. With all those accolades to their name, how could we not try it.

The Extra Lengths Leesa Go To

On top of making mattresses, Leesa go that extra mile by giving back with their social impact program. This program has 3 separate initiatives.

Firstly, they donate one mattress for every ten they sell. These go to UK charities that help the homeless. They have donated over 30,000 mattresses so far. Then, they support the planting of one tree for every mattress sold. Finally, they participate in lots of local community events and initiatives, and their staff are given time off to help at local charities.

Our New Mattress by Leesa

Having recently reviewed a mattress which I found too hard, it was important for both Ross and I to get a mattress which suited both of our needs. I am pleased to say that Leesa seem to have solved that particular conundrum!

Leesa explain on their website that the mattress is constructed of a 5cm top layer of Cooling Avena® Foam, a 5cm layer of pressure relieving memory foam and a 15cm base foam layer which adds strength, durability and structure to support sleepers of all sizes, without feeling too firm.

With the hot weather we are currently having, it was important that we had the cooler night’s sleep which Leesa promise on their website. Ross feels the heat far more than I do and the cooling avena foam which the mattress possesses seems to be doing the trick.

Ross and I both suffer from bad backs to a varying degree. Whilst it hasn’t solved other issues, it certainly hasn’t exacerbated them. I am definitely sleeping far better and more comfortably than I was. I look forward to going to bed now without worrying too much about not being able to get to sleep. When I do sleep, I certainly feel it is a better quality one!

How to Unpack your Mattress by Leesa

The mattress arrived in a Leesa box which had carry handles on the side. This made it easier to lift up the stairs.

Once in our bedroom, we slid the mattress out of the box and onto the divan base of our bed.

Here is an image from the Leesa website to show you how it’s done:

Our Thoughts on the Mattress by Leesa

Anything compared to our old mattress was great, which was why I liked the last mattress we reviewed. However, I didn’t love it. The Leesa, however, has changed all of that.

We slept on our Leesa mattress for around 4 weeks before completing this review. Both Ross and I are extremely happy with it. We both get the support and comfort we need. Neither of us are overheating and both of us are getting a better night’s sleep – without one of us worrying about the other!

Mattresses start at £450 and our UK Kingsize mattress retails at £750. On top of that, it comes with the 100 night risk-free trial, free delivery and returns and a 10 year warranty.
