Love a Lego Challenge!
Did you know that there is an average of 80 Lego bricks per person, a pretty awesome statistic. I wonder if this includes the bits down the back of the sofa?!
Recently the lovely people at Markettiers4dc – of which I am a part of their Parenting Broadcast Blogger Network – and the lovely people at Lego offerd up a Lego set including 80 pieces of Lego, a brick box and a picture of the challenge we had been set for our 80 pieces. When it arrived, I hurriedly opened the package to reveal our photo. Having seen that Jennifer Dixon over at My Mummies Pennies had to build a clown, I didn’t think ours was going to be too tricky!
Ah. Our photo was of the Space Shuttle! OK, how complicated could this be?! I remember many an afternoon as a kid building a Lego house (not necessarily in the style of Ed Sheeran!). Well, on Friday afternoon we made a start. During the construction process, Grace got a little bored and, with the pieces we didn’t know what to do wi
th(!), she made her own creation. This really wasn’t easy, but we were determined not to be beaten!
Whenever I find something tricky, I like to walk away, recompose myself and return to try again. We walked away for quite a while and Grace and I returned to the challenge on Saturday afternoon! We were determined to complete this BEFORE Dr Who started!!
I’m glad to say that, between us we did! (If you saw my Silent Sunday yesterday then you would know this already!).
This is a lovely set with a great storage box and lots of different types of pieces of lego. Sure to keep Grace (and her Mum!) busy for a long time. Lego really is still a firm favourite after all these years 🙂
