Little Baby Bum Live Review
When Grace was small I regularly took her to live theatre shows. I think it teaches small children all sorts of important new skills as well as giving them an experience at the same time. I knew that I wanted to do the same with Rex so, when we offered the chance to go and see Little Baby Bum Live, Ross and I agreed that we would take Rex along whilst Grace was at school.

The Little Baby Bum Live Tour
Little Baby Bum is the YouTube sensation for small children (and a parent life-saver!). Their YouTube channel has over 15 million subscribers and 16 billion views. I have to admit that we hadn’t heard of it when they approached us but it is now one of the things I put on in the kitchen when I am doing some housework and Rex is with me.

Little Baby Bum Live! is the world premiere stage show tour, complimenting the hit YouTube channel. The show combines puppetry, live action and animation. The audience is invited to step into their rather magical and very colourful world where you join all the characters including Mia, Jacus and Twinkle and their Nursery Rhyme friends on their latest adventure into Little Baby Bum Town who are preparing for their parade.
Our Experience
Arriving at The Playhouse Theatre, we were told that all the performers were stuck on a train so the show had been delayed by an hour. This meant that we nipped around to the local Wetherspoons to give Rex (and us) some lunch which made it a little easier during the show. The time suited us better!
Two of the performers came on stage a little early to interact with everyone, just before the show started. Even though I didn’t know the characters very well, it certainly didn’t matter. The show was colourful, engaging and beautifully stage-managed. There were (I think) 4 actors in total who took on various roles and also did the puppetry.

Rex was interested at certain points. He loved the Baby Panda, Incy Wincy the spider, Stan the Monster and the duck! The fact that it was a family show with plenty of space in the theatre, meant that he could crawl up and down the steps without too much bother – and without upsetting the rest of the audience, many of whom were doing the same! It was a very relaxed atmosphere.
Our Thoughts
Overall it was a very well put-together show. There were plenty of well-known nursery rhymes and lots to keep young children amused. I think Rex – at nearly 16 months – may have been a little young for it, especially during the talking which he didn’t really understand. But, Ross and I are really glad we took him to his first theatre show. It gives us a good idea of what to do (and what not to do) next time!
