Drumond Park Wordsearch Game. A Review and Giveaway.
We are big lovers of word puzzles in this family. It is something that Ross and I have always been keen on and we have done our best to ensure that Grace has the same enthusiasm. It is a great way of learning. When I heard that Drumond Park had released an updated version of the classic Wordsearch game, I was really pleased to be able to gift Grace another word puzzle to help with her reading and spelling.

Details of the Drumond Park Wordsearch Game
Drumond Park have added a new twist to an old classic, brain-teaser. This game has already been a big hit with millions but the updated version means that you have to outsmart your opponents by being the first to find each hidden word.
Not as mentally challenging as crosswords or Sudoku, it means that everyone can get involved. Grace can complete Sudoku puzzles and many word puzzle games so, the fact that this particular game is suitable for 8 years plus means that it isn’t so hard for her to feel excluded but it is just tricky enough for her to have to use her noggin.
How to play
First you choose a double-sided game card and slide it into the wheel base. This means that the first word is in place and you can start playing. All players then scan the board looking for the word amongst the mixed up letters. The first one to see it shouts out… and ‘claims’ it by placing their coloured see-through markers over the word.
Play carries on in a clockwise direction, and each time the outer ring is turned to reveal the next word. You need to make sure that you act quickly because players who find the other words can cross the ones you have found and, as a result, remove some of your markers. The hidden word can be positioned in all directions, written from left to right or from right to left, horizontally and diagonally – but always in a straight line. You carry on with the game until the starting space appears and the person with the most coloured markers on the board at the end is the winner.
Our Thoughts
This is a big hit already in our family. Grace has outgrown the slightly easier word games so it was definitely time for an upgrade. Drumond Park have provided us with the perfect solution with their updated version of Wordsearch. All of our family love a board game and we are looking forward to taking this one to Ross’ parents house where there is a regular games night. We believe it will be in regular circulation!
