Review: Personalised Chocolate Memory Box from Morse Toad

I don’t know about you but one of the trickiest things is to find just one thing for your mum on Mothers Day. Thankfully the clever people at Morse Toad have come up with the answer. A personalised chocolate memory box. This consists of a box of specially formed chocolates, your choice of photograph and the option to add a frame.

who are morse toad

Morse Toad are a small company, based in Lymington in the New Forest (one of my favourite places in the UK). They believe that the best gifts given are the ones that you can make yourself – and the company give you that platform with a little bit of help from them.

Their products can always be customised to enable you to add your own personal touch. They feel that a great gift is a surprise which turns up without warning and not one that needs collecting which means all of their items are letterbox friendly (no more waiting in for my mum!).

Morse Toad have a number of different products and options to choose from. Whether it is an anniversary, engagement, wedding, birthday, Mothers Day or simply an apology, they have it covered.

To start with, you can choose when you would like the gift shipped. The great thing here is that they cater for specific calendar events such as Valentines Day and Mothers Day so there is no more messing around trying to make sure it gets there on time.

Then, you choose and upload your photograph. You have the option of Landscape or Portrait and the opportunity to crop the image too.

Once this is done, you can decide the message you want written in chocolate. Letterpress blocks were the inspiration for the letters, so you can be sure of great chunky, Belgian chocolate. You can opt for 2, 3 or 4 rows of letters and prices for this start at £12.95.

Next, you can add a personal written message on the inside lid of the box – meaning the recipient will have even more of a keepsake.

Finally, you have the option to add a wooden frame for an extra £4.50.

At checkout, you have the option to add 4 red chocolate hearts or 4 gold chocolate hearts for a £1 as well as a couple of other little extras.

Shipping ranges from £2.95 for Untracked Royal Mail first class delivery taking 1 – 2 days, tracked 48 hour for £4.95, tracked 24 hour for £5.95 and guaranteed next day delivery for £7.25.

my thoughts

This is a fantastic way to gift anyone with something for them to enjoy – both short-term and long-term! I loved the presentation.

The chocolate is definitely Belgian and doesn’t taste like that ‘fake’ kind that you might sometimes find with a product like this.

The photo quality isn’t the absolute best on the box but this isn’t a photography printing company, and I am a picky photographer! This is a gifting company and I think it is perfectly acceptable.

The frame is a fantastic extra to the gift and I love the fact that, once you have finished the chocolates, there are areas on the back of the box which you can punch out and use as the positions for the hangers on the wall.

An all round perfect gift for Mothers Day or any other special occasion.
