A Song for the Weekend #30 – Get Back Up Again by Anna Kendrick

I have had to pick myself back up again more times than I care to mention throughout my life. Most people have called me strong, some have called me stupid, and me? Well, to me it just seems like the only thing you can do. Otherwise I would wallowing in a sea of self-pity and chocolate…always chocolate! Anyway, following this year’s disappointment of the IVF treatment where we had to pick ourselves up once again, we are about to embark on another round. Yep, getting back up…again! 

Last weekend, we went to see the film ‘Trolls’. It was just what I needed. The lead character, Poppy, voiced by Anna Kendrick reminds me of how I used to be (before the cynical devil started to make the odd appearance on my shoulder) in the fact that she was always looking at the positives, always smiling and singing and trying not to let anything bring her down. She made such an impact with me, that I have bought a key ring of her – with hair – to take with me as a talisman and a reminder to stay on the positive side! I have also got a smaller version of her for Grace to carry with her whilst we are away. That is why this week’s song is ‘Get Back Up Again’. It is catchy, upbeat and positive. Perfect!
