We have now been following the diet from Musclefood and their Do The Unthinkable plan for 3 weeks. It is a proteindiet coupled with a DVD full of exercise. Bearing in mind it was my birthday last Friday, how did Ross and I get on with our third week? Here is our latest update.
I think Ross and I are now finding our way through and deciding on our favourites, the things we like and the items we won’t be ordering again – which, I am pleased to say, are few and far between.
I have decided that the chocolate porridge is definitely my favourite breakfast. I ordered 7 for the past week! I tend to have either the Goats Cheese or Chicken Tikka Pizza for lunch as this is quick and easy to eat on the go when I am trying to deal with Rex and his lunch at the same time. Dinner, for me, is the beef lasagne with rainbow veg or the chicken tikka masala curry kit.
Ross has a bit more variety going on and tends to mix and match his meals. He does like the chicken and sweetcorn soup which is particularly good as an afternoon snack (yes, soup as a snack!). Al the snacks are very filling and I tend to find that I go without much of the time.
Last week I mentioned the expiry dates. It is worth noting that the majority of the meals can be placed in the freezer and the meal boxes are supposed to be microwaved from frozen.
I am afraid that the exercise is not getting any easier. Ross and I have both decided that, whilst we understand the ethics behind it, I don’t think it is something that we really want to continue with after our 4 weeks are up. Ross is the sort of person who prefers to disappear into our gym in the garage, put on a wrestling show and lift some weights and/or do a stint on the treadmill. Whereas I prefer a dance workout and am happy enough doing Zumba.
In the meantime, we are doing our best to keep up with Steve and the workouts that he sets us. It does help having the rest days in between plus there is a really helpful Facebook group full of support.
Our Results After the Third Week
The third week has been easier all round than last week. The only blip in the week was my birthday when we decided to have some gin and a takeaway curry – as well as some chocolate! Ross was still trying to meet his deadline and, with Rex much better, I am now trying to play catch up with my work. Taking all this into account, the food once again has been really helpful in our day to day life with the very small amount of planning it needs!
