Light.

This week’s photography and poetry prompt via Mummy B is ‘Light’. I have to admit that when I first looked at it, I didn’t really have a clue what to base it on. Then, as I was practising with my camera at the weekend, the perfect opportunity came up. Our cat, Gypsy, was bathing in the sunlight at the window in Ross’ office. I took a few photos and was happy with the result.

This week’s poem took me a bit longer and I finally finished it last night. I believe that it proves that there is always hope – but sometimes you just have to look a bit harder.

Gypsy

Light

Just as darkness starts to begin
Shine a little light somewhere from within
It needn’t be large, it needn’t be much
Enough to see, but not quite to touch

Like a cloud that crosses the moon
Know that your light, it will return soon
The stars will shine brightly, guiding you
After all, that is what they are there to do

There’s not much in life that will happen for certain
But the end of a tunnel, the crack in the curtain
These things give you hope in the blackest of night
Where there is darkness, let there be light
