The Casdon Dyson Cord-free Toy Replica

*Gifted Item for review*

Rex’s imagery play skills are coming along in leaps and bounds. At the age of 3, I can remember that Grace was very much the same. Rex has me (and the rest of the family) pretending to be all sorts from Minnie Mouse (yes, even his dad) to a Dinosaur as he pretends to be our counterpart. So this Dyson Cord-free toy replica from Casdon is perfect right now.

Who are Casdon?

Casdon Toys are the masters of role play toys. For over 70 years, their family business have been supporting children in their role play adventures on a voyage to discover, learn and develop. And from what I have seen, they are complete masters at this.

The Dyson Cord-Free Replica

Rex has certainly discovered the role of cleaning in our house. Ross is a real stickler (moreso than me!) when it comes to housework and has taken over this role as I turn to working more, being the main earner. As a result, Rex is following his lead.

When I presented the Dyson replica to Rex, he was thrilled if a little afraid of the noise at first. Whenever we have been using our current vacuum cleaner, Rex has been scared of the noise, so this was a great way to introduce him to the fact that vacuum cleaners aren’t scary, that there is a bit of a noise and there is nothing to be scared of.

He soon came round to this fact and set us all an example as he cleaned the rug in our conservatory, using his new Dyson. He was fascinated with the fact that the dust and debris compartment opens and also the little moving colourful balls in the clear cylinder which simulate the cyclone action. The fact that it even works, picking up small bits, is a definitely a bonus!

Ways to play

There are a number of different ways to play. You can use the short nozzle or long handled ‘twist & turn’ cleaning. The attachments have an easy release removal system, which are just like the real thing. It requires 3 x AA batteries which aren’t supplied and, like most battery operated toys these days, sit underneath a panel held in by screws.

Final Thoughts

Suitable for ages 3+, this fantastic role play toy keeps Rex occupied in his role play adventures and is a great addition to his toy collection. I have to admit to being slightly envious – it looks SO much better than our current model!
