NaPoWriMo Day 28 – Proud to Be British

Day 28 of NaPoWriMo. We’ve driven through some beautiful Yorkshire countryside this weekend and again it’s help me to realise just how picturesque this country is. I do love living here and its inspired a poem.

PROUD TO BE BRITISH

Rolling hills and countryside

This land holds so much more beside

Quaint little villages, beautiful towns

Country walks up dales and down

Seaside rock and amusement arcades

Walk along the pier as the sun starts to fade

So many places steeped in history

This land holds so much for us to see

Born in Surrey, I’m someone who

Is proud to be British through and through
