NaPoWriMo Day 23 – Responsibility

Day 23 of NaPoWriMo (I am starting to imagine the Big Brother narrator voice as I write this now!). Tomorrow I have two young ladies going to their driving test. With one of them in particular, I have tried to stress the importance of not getting frustrated with other drivers making mistakes. For all we know, they could have just had some very bad news or may be feeling ill. I am well aware of how dangerous cars can be and have had to deal with parents in the past who try and get their children to go to test before I believe they are ready. This poem is about passing your driving test.
Responsibility
Tomorrow, once you have passed
Please remember, don’t drive fast
Be in control, always drive safe
Don’t let what I taught go to waste
You’re in control of a killing machine
Don’t regret what could have been
Be courteous to those who road use
Abide the code, please don’t abuse
Responsibility’s what you have there
Drive with sense and a lot of care
