A Song for the Weekend #18 You Make Me Feel Like Dancing by Leo Sayer

With less than a month to go until Rewind Festival South – which Ross and I will once again be covering – I have had another look through the acts which are performing this year. There are quite a few I would like to see and I have already interviewed Hazell Dean and Annabella from Bow Wow Wow. There is one act though which is a complete blast from the past for me.

Leo Sayer was one of the happiest, most upbeat performers that I can remember from my childhood. I always found his songs infectious with his high-pitched singing voice and funky dancing. When being tasked with finding songs for a Pantomime which I directed over 4 years ago, one of the songs I was keen to include was ‘You Make Me Feel Like Dancing’, however, this unfortunately never came off as it was just too hard to sing! Such is the unique sound of Mr Sayer.
