UK Swimwear Review
Since having Rex I have been much more self-conscious about what I wear and how I look. This is mainly down to the fact that I put on a lot of weight. More than I have ever been used to before. Plus, taking my age into account, it is also much harder to lose it.
I have started to do something about the weight gain thanks to Slimming World but, in the meantime, I still have places to go and things to do with Rex. This includes swimming lessons every Thursday. It is easy to feel like everyone is staring at you when you feel uncomfortable in your own skin. Thankfully, the lovely people at UK Swimwear have made it easier for me.

About UK Swimwear
I have to say that UK Swimwear have costumes and bikinis to suit all shapes and sizes. These include halter neck swimsuits, plus size, shaping, padded, skirtinis, sports and mastectomy. They also offer beachwear, bags, hats and other accessories.
Introduced to the UK in May 2008, they were originally called UK Beachwear. It was due to the success of UK Tights that Dawn and her husband realised that there was a gap in the market for a decent online company who sold swimwear.
Since starting their business, UK Swimwear has become one of the world’s leading swimwear sites. Dawn is the buyer and chooses all of the new ranges together with her assistant. They want to ensure that they have the widest choice available for their customers.
My choice
Because of my current size, I decided to opt for a swimsuit from the shaping range.
It was the Seaspray Ave Halter Plunge Swimsuit, that really caught my eye. Priced at £77.95, this costume is flattering in all the right places, with a plunge neckline and really colourful pattern. There are also soft cups which are really comfortable for your bust as well as slightly accentuating it, together with a halter neck and little gold clasps on the straps. There is light control around the tummy area which helps with gentle shaping and they perfectly describe the pattern as ‘part crystal cavern and part stormy sea’.
My thoughts
I have worn my costume a number of times now and find it really comfortable at the same time as holding in all of my wobbly bits! Plus, as I am losing weight, it moves with me so I am finding it a little more comfortable to wear without compromising on the fit.
We are off to Center Parcs in Woburn in a couple of weeks and, unlike last year, I am now looking forward to the swimming pool without feeling quite so self-conscious. Not only because I am losing weight but also because I have a beautiful swimming costume to wear.
They have some really stunning swimwear and I could have easily have spent a fortune with them!

Your right you could spend a fortune! I looked through sale items in my size 16 and liked the Damella Monochrome Mastectomy Bikini, now I haven’t had a Mastectomy but it looks comfortable no wiring which I hate, and high waisted bottoms. i’m surprised I liked it as I don’t like Monochrome but the pattern caught my eye, its simple but elegant.
